Love the type of person that when you bring something important to their attention, they take their ball and go home.
I've heard they are the worst from multiple people. Not only that, but the shitlords knew what they were doing. They were damaging their product, and selling the damaged goods to unknowing patrons. Deleting my comment and blocking me on IG showed me what kind of business they're interested in running. Just ****** all around. Really hope the new locations bankrupts them, couldn't happen to more deserving ppl.
We opened it at the jedwards invitational a few weeks ago, it wasn't great. I'm normally a huge aged Eclipse fan but it was a bummer.Love the type of person that when you bring something important to their attention, they take their ball and go home.
I haven't been to City Beer in years and I have no plans to go anytime soon. But if someone wants to splurge on that EC Eclipse from 2009, I could be convinced to go halfsies on it.

Framboise for a Cure from Russian River. They do it every October as an annual breast cancer fundraiser. City Beer had bottles and sold them with a markup eventhough it was for a fundraiser.wut is ffac????
Their prices are way better than they used to be. I was shocked when I went in there and things weren't all obviously marked up. For a while you could expect to pay like 20% more on basically everything, and 50% more for anything hard to find. Even the prices in the cooler were mostly not that bad, they're high but justifiable (like $70 for a Temptation B4 seems like a lot, but the thing is a decade old). But when the cooler first came out it was definitely exorbitant, and it seems like it still is for lambic.ah. yeah idk why people hate them. their alvarado prices are fair. personally I think their space always felt awkward/ the seats were uncomfortable as **** but they had good beer at fair prices so it was sometimes worht a stop when at cellarmaker
I was about to say to the previous poster, wtf are you talking about their prices are trash. Explains that, as I haven't been in a couple years. 50/50 did get a new distributor at the beginning of this year so possibly that mended things?Their prices are way better than they used to be. A lot of people also have a grudge about their partnership with their family's distributor, where they essentially siphon off anything exciting. It's possible that's stopped, I have no idea. It's also possible it was overblown years ago. It definitely lead to some funny moments, like when FiftyFifty switched to a different distributor and they threw a hissy fit, stopped carrying their beer, and held a firesale for all their old vintages (I was kinda annoyed I couldn't get there, the prices were actually good!). Seems like maybe that got patched up, I dunno.
I don't personally hold any vendetta against them, but also can't blame anyone that does.
This is how I think of Crafty Fox's pricing, both draft and to go.For a while you could expect to pay like 20% more on basically everything, and 50% more for anything hard to find.
HMB is making some tasty BA Barleywines these days, tooThis is how I think of Crafty Fox's pricing, both draft and to go.
As for HMB Brewing, fresh Full Swing is delicious but I can't speak for their food. I always eat at Dad's Luncheonette when I drive through there.
They were a pretty run of the mill brewery for until a couple years ago right? I haven't had them in awhile, but I've heard good things.HMB is making some tasty BA Barleywines these days, too
Two things: one, I'm sure this joke is in here somewhere already, but I'm too lazy to search it - you really missed the opportunity in naming this thread - Bay Area Regional/Recreational Thread.
Second: wife's aunt who lives in Fremont wants to go to Half Moon Bay and suggests eating at HMB Brewing - thoughts? Assuming we go to the location, are there way better places to eat?
yup! shoot from belmont to ssf the weath drops 20 degrees, and that’s a 12 min drive with no trafficThat's pretty typical for the area. I was in Pleasanton the other weekend at 104, got home to Oakland and it was 71. That was a 25-30 minute drive.
and bring cash to toronados if you go there capnmike, they have beat 18 on tap right nowToronado has a bottle list to go and you can enjoy some good beers, conversations and a sausage from next door.
Otherwise, check out a Healthy Spirits location for a decent bottle shop.

on a side note, why go to kings canyon when yosemite is closer and 1000x more beautiful?

yea i remember that, all of a sudden they put all their 50/50 stuff on the shelf at regular price to get rid of it. i picked up 2 white wax eclipse for $26, it was crazyA lot of people also have a grudge about their partnership with their family's distributor, where they essentially siphon off anything exciting. If it's nice out, I would suggest getting some beers at HMB then heading about 15 min north and eating at La Costanera. Damn good Peruvian food and Piscos, plus there's great views if it's not fogged out.Two things: one, I'm sure this joke is in here somewhere already, but I'm too lazy to search it - you really missed the opportunity in naming this thread - Bay Area Regional/Recreational Thread.
