Going to give THIS Kellerbier a go.

He promotes Wyeast´s 2206 Bavarian Lager for this. But my local shop have Mangrove Jack´s M76 Bavarian Lager dry yeast on stock. are these equivalent?

I've used WY2206 a few times and M76 twice in a bock, helles and dunkel. They perform in a similar manner in terms of good floc, attenuation and low sulfur production-- much like my usual workhorse lager yeasts (Imperial-Harvest and WLP 838) that I mostly use in more malt-forward lagers. I think M76 would be fine in a kellerbier.

I've seen a few comparisons on the interwebs equating M76 to 34/70. IMO, all things held constant, M76 produces a more malt-forward, richer beer than 34/70.

I think I've never come across an amber Kellberbier. 35 IBU is not nearly in line with my experience of these beers, which are usually just slightly hazy versions of a Helles. See for example this one by Ayinger:

Can anyone name some commercial examples of the beer described? I'd like to try it.

Personally my favorite Kellerbier is Zirndorfer. I've never seen it outside of Bavaria, but here's some photos for reference Noch ein paar Kellerbiere oder wie sich die immer nennen – Meine Bierseite.

My experience is that Kellerbier is not as light as a helles, but just a shade lighter than a dunkles, and quite a bit lighter than a porter/stout. It's got a really balanced character all around. Basically no hoppy flavor; not too dark; not too carbonated. I love it as a park beer. It's definitely very sessionable, a little bit on the malty side for a german beer, but not what you think of when you think of light session lagers.
