Between a ton of cultured yeast in mason jars and now staggering cases of lagers I simply have no more room in my regular fridge.

I have around 150 beers on hand, and 50 ready to drink, 50 ready to lager, and 50 just bottled. The first 100 sure could use a fridge in the mid 30s. Nope, I only have room for maybe 24 at a time.

Argh!!!!!

This is probably a good problem to have.

hop onto craigslist. You can find some pretty cheap fridges on there.

Even better, if you don't mind avacado, you can probably get one for free.

+1 to Craigslist. You just need a place to put a second fridge like a basement or garage. If there is not a lady of the house involved the living room will work in a pinch as well. :)

I recently picked up a medium sized beer fridge (about 11 cubic feet). I can fit about 40 beers on the shelves, use the crisper to store washed yeast (I use 4 oz. mason jelly jars to conserve space) and a few nice bombers in the door. The freezer has my bulk hops in vacuum sealed quart mason jars and I have containers to make ice blocks for wort chilling. I'm loving it and Mrs. Gnome was also pleased to reclaim the freed up space in the big fridge.

I want to be able to fit ~50 bottles in it for cold conditioning, and have enough room on the door for washed yeast. Mine I think are in 8oz mason jars.

I just took a closer look (I wasn't home when I posted before). It's a Whirlpool ET0MSRXTL. It was about $450 delivered from Lowes. I can fit 35 bottles on the bottom shelf (5 x 7) and 28 bottles on the top shelf (4 x 7) for a total of 63.

The crisper and doors would certainly hold several 8 oz mason jars.

The only negative about the fridge is that it's a bit noisy, especially when the vibration causes bottles to rattle (it's sitting in the dining area within earshot of our living room).

Here's a little tour of my beer fridge (yeah, I'm just stoked about having one) :D

Here's the exterior of the fridge. It sits in between our kitchen counter and my brewing gear rack. The little fridge to the right is a Haier NuCool 2.8 I use for fermentation:

The interior has two shelves. The top one can hold 28 bottles and the bottom one can hold 35:

The door can hold a few bombers as well as a few more 12 oz bottles. The top rack fits the 4 oz jelly jars I use for washed yeast (that's some Nottingham that I use for bottling). I can also hold a few new yeast packets:

The crisper is nice for holding the bulk of my yeast bank:

The freezer holds my hop inventory on the top shelf. A pound of hop pellets fits perfectly in a 1 quart mason jar. I also vacuum seal the jars so they stay as fresh as possible. The bottom shelf holds the containers for making ice blocks that I use for chilling wort on brew day:

I have a 685 sq. ft. apartment...I got myself a 5.2 cu. ft. chest freezer for serving kegs, decided to just use it for fermenting beer instead. Now I'm considering getting another similar size freezer for more fermenting or cold crashing or whatever lol...You will never have enough beer equipment...

I picked up an upright freezer off cl for $50. Slapped a johnson controler on there and can hold 200 bottles on the racks and 30 glasses in the door.

Since I brought up the CL idea, I'll share my find. It's a Magic Chef wine fridge. Right now it's a universal fridge, sometimes lagering, sometimes holding beer, right now it's stocked w/ bombers and wine. Soon it's going to be converted to a 2 tap kegerator. Cost me $30.
