Hi there,

I have two Sanyo 4912M refrigerators I found off of craigslist. I'm going to convert one into a dual tap kegerator with two corny kegs and use the other as a fermentation chamber.

I've been ordered by the big boss to reduce the apartment space taken up by my glorious hobby (e.g. carboys, ale pales, buckets, bottles, bottle tree, wort chiller, etc.). Kegging should allow me to clear out the bottling stuff.

For the fermentation equipment, what's the best way to economize space with my fermentation Sanyo fridge? Conical fermenter? Or, just stick with with ale pail and glass carboys for primary and secondary.

Right now, I'm just extract brewing ales. Would like to get into lagers. Ideal scenario is two kegs on tap and something fermenting in the pipeline minimizing space and time spent brewing (e.g. racking, etc.)

Thanks!

If you can fit a conical in your fridge and price is no object, then we can ascertain the following facts

a) Friggin' do it
b) I hate you. :drunk:

I'm pretty attached to my glass carboys, though. And the bottom line is, you're never going to be able to slim the equipment to less than your fermenter and bottling bucket.

Why not just tell SWMBO to RDWHAHB? :ban:

i'm also apartment brewing. i feel your pain. swmbo can't open a closet without something beer related falling out. i need a garage :(

Luckily for me, my bedroom closet is a decent size and swmbo told me I could have it to store all my random stuff.. doesn't take up too much room in there.. although, I have the very slim basics I figure I can still add 3 or 4 more carboys without overcrowding and everthingnis within arms reach..

There is another shelf above the one the stuff is sitting on (although its like 7.5' up) but next to the Dyson is my gun safe.. with the tree moved up, boxes moved I figure at least 3 more carboys will fit..
