I got really amped to try canning my beer and won a Ives-way canner on eBay to see if it would can homebrew thinking Oktoberdesign.com was a viable option for can blanks but didn't realize shipping was crazy since the cans take up so much space.

I sourced cans for cheap but they are still a 3500ish can minimum order plus freight which is actually quite reasonable but who knows how long it would take me to brew that much beer?

Does anyone can in Boston or have connections with a mobile canner/probrewer who would let me buy a bunch of blank cans via local pick up?

If two other people wanted to go in on a thousand cans each I would be down for that. Definitely don't have the capital or space for 3000 though

I have no idea. I bought a model 400 with a 211 chuck. I seriously went into this with little knowledge. There's not much technical information out there about beer can seaming.

Do you have knowledge about seaming?

Not a lot, but enough to know the chuck is specific to each can type and without that you're pretty much dead in the water.
I know All American supports the common type 202 12 oz beverage can ends but couldn't find a comparable solution with Ives-way.

If you can get type 211 cans that work for beer you're set (aside from the whole transactional thing ;))

Cheers!

I know the Ives way has a 211 chuck. But if it needs another chuck, I may have to fabricate or 3d print one.

Do you know of anyone with a few cans to spare so I can test and tinker with my setup?
