Well, it is done...and it was picture perfect.
The OG did come in a little lower than I would have liked, but, the actual mechanics of my brew day were spot on.
I brewed Dude's rendition of the SNCA below:
I did make some creative changes due to on hand stock of pellets and LHBS supply of only plugs for Chinook and Cascade. (As an aside, how have I made it this far in brewing without ever smelling the greatness that is a 13%+ AA Chinook...mmm, so good)
According to ProMash, the OG should have come in at 1.065, and I measured 1.051 at 60 degrees. I attribute this to first tim mashing.
Overall, this was a freaking great experience. I look forward to cheaper brews, but some new biger ticket brewing toys (thank you Cranandstein for the new pricing).
