For a quick breakdown of what this thread is all about, see here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/american-ipa-hops-round-1-a-393287/

Ready up for a new round with new hop choices!! The total number of votes for each hop mentioned in all rounds will count toward making it into the FINALS.

ROUND 2
TRY TO LIMIT YOUR MULTIPLE CHOICES TO YOUR PERSONAL TOP 3 (OR FEWER)

Tell us why you decided on these hops in the comments.

The most noteworthy results for Round 1 were as follows:

1st place = Centennial
2nd place = Amarillo
3rd place = Simcoe
4th place = Citra & Cascade (TIE)
5th place = Columbus
6th place = Chinook

Nugget, Summit, and Apollo will most likely be eliminated in the FINALS.

Interesting to see Centennial win the first round.

I would have guessed that it would turn out more like this:

1st place = Amarillo
2nd place = Simcoe
3rd place = Citra
4th place = Centennial
5th place = Columbus
6th place = Cascade
7th place = Chinook

I chose Warrior and Horizon for this round. They're both good at all points in the boil and dryhop.

We need at least 38 more votes by the night of March 8th, when the poll closes.

It is your right to vote as a hophead :mug:

Chinook, Magnum for their clean bittering qualities, and Amarillo for it's great aroma and dry hopping.

15 votes so far. We need at least another 32 to proceed to the next round.

I'm surprised more people didn't choose Chinook. It's available, cheap, works for bittering flavor and aroma. It seems kind of under appreciated to me. I've heard about the 'cat-pee' thing but never really picked that out myself.
