I just did a 6 gallon boil on my electric coil today with my first AG. I insulated my 32qt pot with aluminum foil and thin fiberglass insulation. I managed to get a vigorous boil going, but was having trouble getting it there. I came up with a simple solution!
I found that a clean hand towel draped about 2/3 of the way over the pot gave just enough extra heat to get it going vigorously. This way the DMS condensate would not drip back into the pot! I flipped it 2 or 3 times just to be safe about any condensate, but I'm sure I could have left it alone throughout the boil.
