Can someone help me convert this AG recipe to PM? Since there are 3 base malts, I'm having trouble figuring out how to scale them all equally. Would I be able to mash say, only the Munich and use extract for the rest?

9.75# Pilsener
4.0# Munich
0.5# Wheat

0.75# CaraMunich
0.5# Aromatic
0.5# Special B
2oz. Black

1.1oz. Kent Goldings 5%AA

I only have a 3gal. beverage cooler so 6# grain is my limit.

Something like this?

5.80 lb Pilsn DME (3.0 SRM) Dry Extract 48.01 %
0.40 lb Wheat Dry Extract (8.0 SRM) Dry Extract 3.31 %
4.00 lb Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 33.11 %

0.75 lb Caramunich Malt (56.0 SRM) Grain 6.21 %
0.50 lb Aromatic Malt (26.0 SRM) Grain 4.14 %
0.50 lb Special B Malt (180.0 SRM) Grain 4.14 %
0.13 lb Black (Patent) Malt (500.0 SRM) Grain 1.08 %
1.10 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] (60 min) Hops 19.2 IBU

Yeah, shouldn't be a problem just mashing the munich and wheat with your specialty grains. Munich is supposed to be able to convert itself, and if the wheat is malted it should be fine. Might want to consider a slightly longer mash or at least a conversion test to make sure everything gets converted.

After that, for every pound of grain use either 0.75 pound of LME or 0.6 pound of DME, so about 7.5lbs of LME or 6lbs of DME. Those values depend a little on your normal efficiency, but if you're trying to get the OG exactly you can measure the gravity and volume at the start of the boil after adding most of the extract and add a little more extract if needed. I think there are some places that will sell pilsener extract, but you'd probably be fine with just a general light or extra light if you've already got some laying around.

Mash the specialty malts with the Munich and wheat. For the 9.75 pounds pilsner, use 6 pounds extra light DME

Awesome, thanks much. I'm going to go with Wheat malt instead of extract, per your suggestion. I'll use Pilsner DME instead of Extra light, just to keep it as close to the original recipe as possible.
