It's weird your son driving through my hometown, you have the beer part down I can help you with the rest, as well, I grew up there. Let me know if you want any suggestions on hikes places to eat things to do etc... I know someone out there will be like he's from Fort Collins, I grew up in between and went to school in both cities. It's a long story well I guess not really. Lot of people like to climb our 54 14 thousand foot tall Peaks. My wife's dad has done them all me not so many

They're out there to climb (not 14k peaks!), but giving them $200 to find uniques/limited if possible. This is what I sent them to help. I'd take any suggestions for craft beer (BA Imperial Stouts, DIPAs, fruit sours are top of the ISO list) or great/helpful liquor stores

Hey @PianoMan - I'll be in Austin next Th through Tues with my wife for a mini vacation by lake Travis. Any must-visit breweries you can recommend in that vicinity?

Depends on your style, but AustinBeerWorks, 4th Tap, Adelberts are like 5min from eachother. Whole Foods Domain has 40+ taps and close by. These are all north Austin.

Strange Land Brewery is central west. Pretty diversified beer selection.

South would be Hops and Grain, Blue Owl (sour mash beer), Zilker, Jester King, and Last Stand. Pint House Pizza on South Lamar has 30 taps (several are brewed in house) and good pizza. HaG, BO are 2min by eachother (more SE Austin). JK/LS (SW Austin) are about 3min away from eachother. On the JK campus is Stanley's Pizza, pretty famous and really good according to many. Never had it myself.

I'd highly recommend staying on one side of Austin, then drive in the evening, 8pm+ or around noon. 5 o'clock traffic is unbearable going north/south. East/west isnt too bad.

Well because thunderstorms and flash flooding are apparently a valid reason to cancel an outside music and beer venue, did our own version with Untagable HB and all mine (3 stouts and dipa not pictured) along with some retails. Nights still young!

Yeah I did it all including setting the toilet, repairing the drywall, painting, installing new shower rod , the sink plumbing, the wainscot, floor, I don't do it a whole lot so I'm not good at it but get it done. I have a 99 Camry and 98 4 Runner. Sorry to hear about your Toyota. Did the downstairs bath similar Style. Had to repair sprinkler system as well today rather be golfing

Nice work @applescrap. I started this project just before massive overtime came around and we started caring for the grandkids...pic of my "BA" Imperial Stout.

Golf eh? Colorado has the highest elevation course in continental us. Looking at trip myself in July or August. Golf, beer and hiking.

Thanks for the suggestions! Wife and I both like about any beer styles, so no worries there. We're staying at a place basically on lake Travis, but we will be venturing further south into the city at least one of the days we are there. I'll have to look into a few of the places you mentioned. Gracias!

Did a shower remodeling job 12 years ago. I suspected a leak so tore it out, there was none btw. Need to jack hammer to move drain from against the wall. Converting to single handle valve from dual.

Also, by chance, the drain crapped out on the tub in the adjacent bathroom..it still needs removed and new installed.

That and found out our truck engine seized up yesterday. IDK what happened yet. Yeah life!

The Commodore from Diebolt is good, but I'd pass on their other stuff. Crooked Stave is a great stop for sours. Avery in Boulder will have a bunch of gold foil beers (barrel aged beers and sours) in the cooler and they'll be slightly cheaper than they'll find at liquor stores. They are $12 for 12 ounces. Odd 13 in Lafayette makes some great IPAs, but I'd pass on their sours. Melvin just started distributing here and they make some good IPAs too.

For liquor stores they should check out Small Batch Liquors. It's a small store, but they get stuff that doesn't make it to a lot of stores and the staff there is really knowledgeable. For an enormous big box liquor store, I would check out Molly's, which is only maybe a mile or two from Small Batch.

Had the in-laws over today. Kids all played and are about ready to pass out. Grilled some legs and thighs, along with some grilled zucchini and squash. And cookies - all the food groups. Enjoyed a few 4 squared, which are actually fresh this go around, without all the chunky yeasty floaties. And a few random light beers from a mix pack my wife picked up from shiner.
