That backfired on us a bit when we sold. The appraisal came in lower than we needed because there weren't enough comps. Lost out on a couple grand to make the deal work and get it closed before Christmas. I'm almost over it.

When we sold our first home the appraiser was a *******.

Edit: itchy trigger finger. Long story short; yep, they suck.

I hate to admit it but I have no timetable for when I'm going to see the new Star Wars movie. Honestly was never super excited once I heard it wasn't following the universe all the books have created. I understand why, but don't have to like it.

Well, and I have a 1 year old. He's not a big Star Wars fan... Yet.

If somebody had read extensively on the expanded universe and wasn't pissed that they basically wrote of 25 years of various media and story telling, they wouldn't of been real fans. That's a lot to discount in just one swipe of the pen

Hey. You's guys need to stop throwing your money around all willy-nilly and just bounce on over to my neighborhood and pick up the house next to me for $25k. We can take down the fence, raze the shrubbery and combine the two yards. There will be so much room for activities. Crazy! You can even use my hot tub whenever you want and drink my beers.

Might have to watch some of the original trilogy this weekend while the wife is at work. Might be good background sound while I bottle my RIS.

I'm in. Will you do all the repairs? I hate home repairs.

Damn. What's the job market like in Buffalo right now? :p

Something in common with ours. That guy can choke on it for all I care.

Is there a privacy fence around the hot tub?

Honestly, what condition is it in? 25k has to be a complete gut and maybe even structural repairs? Then again I know a guy that has a decent home in Illinois that he paid in the 40s for. No joke, it's pretty big and in good shape, just needs some minor cosmetic stuff like painting, trim, cabinets and it'd be a really nice place. His mortgage is like $280 or something stupid.

I get super jealous and then remember he lives in ****in Decatur, IL.

Ya - pines on one side and one of those roll down blinds too. For whatever reason, assuming you mean to keep the snow out.

Living is very affordable around here. There's no structural issues, that I can see from the outside at least. Foundation looks pristine. New roof. It's just a bit small. Interior is likely dated. Garage might as well be demo'd.

Our house was 100, complete rebuild and a double lot. Stuff cheap here.

Did a great staycation a couple years ago. Just went up to a private cabin on Mt Hood that had a hot tub. Just drank cheap lagers and sat in a jacuzz most of the weekend. I have a picture of me in a bathrobe and two Rainiers in my pockets, if you want to see me without pants on.

I didn't think I'd like having one.. until I had spabiers. It's glorious. Will admit, I didn't use it over the winter much.

Iijakii takes a staycation by going on vacation.

I change my vote to Matt, i'll let you decide which one. :D

All depends on the market conditions. We offered 20K below asking and got an acceptance within the hour. Our neighbor's didn't like us for a while as they thought we were driving property values down, but it was a buyers market at the time. Not so much around here anymore.

They should have been pissed at the old neighbors who accepted the low offer, not you.

Reported. By the time my son turned 1 he'd seen them all. More than once.

Based on the radio stations I can get in the car right now, West Virginia doesn't really like music.

And if you don't like Star Wars, you're a dick.
