I might get quite refreshed and watch a Bill & Ted's tonight. We'll see how much the wife nags about drinking tonight. Doesnt she know it's the celebration of my friendly friends' peoples?!

Ive heard before that English food pre-WW2 rationing was a lot better. Not sure how true that is, you'd think people would revert...

A little before my time. There's a few things they did right though. Fish and chips, bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, the ones everyone knows. But some of the blood sausages were good. And I always did love toad in the hole and bubble and squeak.

But some stuff, marmite/vegemite (take your pick), etc, I just don't get. Perhaps we left before I was old enough to acquire a taste for that garbage.

And even of the stuff that tastes good, most of it is terrible for you.

Now a good curry, that I do love. About to make a rotten rabbit food vegetable tofu curry for dinner. And we had slow cooker chicken curry earlier this week.

And now I want Ribena dammit. I suppose I can walk to the little british import store/head shop and buy a few boxes of Ribena and a few cans of black treacle tomorrow.

Ribena sounds good -- I've always found it odd currants arent more popular here. Fookin delicious m8.

/iijakii assimilates slang easily

There's a reason why Indian food is the national food of England (seriously, Tikka Masala is a "national dish"). Because traditional English/Irish/Scottish cuisine is for the most part terrible ;)

Meh, I like Tikka Masala, I'd be OK with it.

Hey, fat free...Guinness *is* good for you!

Lawnmower beer. Thanks Allen!

(There would a pic of Cigar City Florida Cracker here if I had taken a picture like I thought I did.)

What did I do with that box cutter damnit?

Pretty funny chit.

just spent 2 hours trying to get my sons soccer practice in before the snow hits tonight.

20 years ago I was doing this on St. Pat's.

one of these days I need to go back and do it again. Maybe @Psylocide could teach me some moves.

SWMBO made shepherds pie for dinner. That and this should help warm me up.

My friends' Dad made a dish he called "Chicken in the pig pen".. or might have that backwards.

It was pancakes with an egg in the middle, and he somehow put bacon in there too. I think it was between layers of the pancakes. Fvckin unbelievable. No idea how he got the egg in there and then the whole concoction out without breaking it.

Toad in the hole is the best thing ever. I was so disappointed when I finally found a place stateside that made it, went there for my birthday last year, and they tried to upscale it, didn't pull it off. ********* I want what I was fed in school as a lad. I suppose I should just make some, but sausages, meat drippings, flour and eggs. Sh**'ll kill you fast.

Just to be clear, half the results for googling toad in the hole bring back toast with the center cut out and egg inside, not what I'm talking about. What I'm talking about is sausages buried in yorkshire pudding and topped with gravy.

That sounds like pure heart attack
