I can't compete with the amounts some of these guys have sent you, I am just hoping the quality of my HB makes up for the lack of quantity.

Again, my parcel will be sent out on Monday.

:mug:

I'm afraid to tell you that the quality matches the quantity here. It's flipping insane. I'm sure you're fine though. I said up front I'd rather have HB anyway.

Didn't want to post-whore all day, but this was pretty much my day today in thumbnails. Hung out with DisturbdChemist, think I encouraged him to drink more than he wanted, met up with Hello near the end of the day. It was a day of ridiculous beers. It was funny to see what big breweries brought heat and which ones didn't. New Belgium brought 2 barrel aged sours I've never seen or heard of and Lagunitas brought Sucks.

Humm...did you see tobyG pick my Huna up??

But seriously...glad you kids had a great time. Was following you on untappd.

Disturb needs to represent Texas!

Counting bombers and 750's as doubles, I have received 150 beers thus far. Can't even put a $ on some of this stuff, and I count HB as priceless unless it's just turrble. None of them have been, thus far.

My thanks to all that played, and my condolences to the 50 k winner. You have no idea what you're in for.

Another milestone to shoot for, it will be a while and will be a big one, the post when we overtake the old thread pathetic as it is now :rockin:

Sour Quad, needs more time but going to be good.View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1457832006.715212.jpg

I did not run into Toby this year, he must still have your Huna. I kept reminding DC that he was from Texas. The problem was that 95% of 450 beers had no line. And most everything was barrel aged or imperial one offs. Saw some really neat variations today

5 of 7 was a totally hot chick...just fishing...

Don't you mean 7 of 9?

What cha brewing?

Rye DIPA. Not that I'm on a particular rye beer kick considering the Hop Ryot, but it should be good.

Wife didnt like the house. Instantly rules it out over dumb things. Yes lets base a home purchase on countertops.

Sounds like she'd fit in as a friendly friend.

Chit..no lines? He posted like a mile long line just to get in. How big was this? Comming to the Texas Brew Festival? Octoberish? No recommend..but what the hell..

Sierra Neveda Experimental 5 hop, not terrible.

Got some beef ribs on the smoker, should be tasty.

Huge line to get in, some beers had long lines (J Wakefield, Toppling Goliath, 3 Sons, CCB BA semi trailer) but everything else was wide open. 3500 people, 450 different beers and 4 food tickets per person

We got 8 tickets each. My friend realized once they turned to pour, had no idea if we put a ticket into the bucket. Found out the workers were subcontractors who didn't give a chit anyway. Would have been better if Texas beers were any good..

Never had a grilled corn-dog...

You're the second person from this thread to mention that.
Grill heats up to 450 degrees while cooking. Corn dog goes on aluminum foil in an area not on flame. Sits in grill for 20 minutes while good food cooks. Daughter is happy, didn't need to heat up kitchen/oven for a single corn dog. A grill with the lid down is just an oven....

This is someone from this thread's farm house HB. And it is good.

Good evening friendly friends.

I regret to inform you all that my unwavering spirit did not win the day. Out of 18 competitors in my division, I finished 5th.

Our team finished 4th of 8.

There were ups and downs, whiffed shots and missed chances, but above all else, I gained more knowledge and made some great acquaintances within our art. I was happy to lose to them.

That being said, please make fun of me quickly, as the shame that I have brought upon my family hasn't completely sunk in yet.

For all of the encouragement and friendliness here, I will put all names that entered the contest in a random order and run a RNG to determine a winner.

I appreciate all of the well wishes, thank you. I'm going to go get drunk now. Stayed tuned for the winner tomorrow.

Cum Sum Nida.

Congrats Pay! Sounds like you kicked some serious ass. Good work. I'm gonna check out that video later.

I had planned on getting a real false bottom many years ago, but a braid was like $5 when I built the mash tun. Figured it would last a couple brews. 4 years and at least 20 batches before it started giving me issues. Trying to figure out if I got lucky or if a braid will really last 3+ years for $5 or if I should just spend the $60-70 for a real false bottom and be done with it.

Have you thought about replacing it with another $5 braid?

Just finished seeing the sister in law and her two sets of twins (not a typo). I'm exhausted. I can't imagine doing that every day.

Don't tell me she's like those folks you see on tv... I don't like the color of the walls this house sucks next...

I worked as a home inspector on the side for 2 years, and I can attest that those people do exist in real life.

One of the worst was a newlywed couple, or more specifically the bride's parents. They put in an offer on a small 1940s house, and the mom scrutinized everything. She didn't like the color of the paint, she thought something was wrong with the trim (it had a couple uneven spots), she didn't like that there was no closet in the living room. Mind you, she wasn't the one actually living there. She even looked at the roof and told me, "I think they did that themselves." Yes, I'm sure the homeowners climbed up on the roof and replaced it themselves.

Classic. I generally can't stand people. I could never make a living making them happy. My old man said it best... You can't make everyone happy all the time, but you can make yourself happy most of the time.
View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1457833870.778437.jpghb bb stout. Bottled back in November. In January the oak was strong. Now you wouldn't believe me if I told you I aged in with oak cubes for 6 weeks.
