As I fear to losing this competition to Gavin, I move that he be removed from the competition. Everything he has in the morning could constitute an Irish Breakfast...so in spirit of trying it already, he should be disqualified.
(I really don't think I could beat the corpse flower lol)

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Logic win.

Valid point Duffman. I yield the field to my Buffalo posting fellow friendly friends.

I'm off home home now for an Irish dinner. (probably will be Taiwanese food but then my crappy joke makes no sense)

ETA @thecadjockey : I think your competition was a resounding success. Got many of us thinking about Buffalo throughout the day. I'm guessing that was one of the aims.

It didn't go over as well as I had hoped. Then again, everything sounds way cooler in my head and I thought that up while I was already in the bag on Thursday night.

Honestly CAD, any type of competition is fun for the most of us. Some don't play, some of the regulars aren't on as much today (guess we aren't important to them :D), it was well run, unique and fun. Pretty sure everybody learned something new about the great snowy north. Good job and thanks for running it

I thought turnout was pretty good, especially for a one-day entry window.

The hardest part about this little contest thing, is deciding who wins. I greatly appreciate everyone's effort whether you had great input or just googled Buffalo. A couple of you hit really close to home and sparked some great memories for me. Without taking up any more of your time, I'll just get down to it.

The full intent of this contest was not to draw attention to myself or give me something to do. It wasn't to be conceited about where I'm from, gloat, brag or spam the thread. I just hoped by doing this, someone would learn something. Staying true to that reasoning alone, I've got to give it to Gavin for turning it around (albeit last minute) and making me realize there are still treasures to be found in the city I love so much.

With that said... since he is the un-taggable, if he doesn't acknowledge this by the time I open my first beer in 15 minutes, it goes to the runner up.

Thanks for the entries, and sorry to take up so much time.

I'll go tag him in another thread as a distraction.

Wait... :cross:

Holy Flock. Now I know how 1977Brewer felt. :)

Just as well I checked the thread before my 20 minute drive home.

CAD this is too generous and probably should go to someone else as I sort of cheated (not sort of, completely cheated) by entering two images.

That said, should you decide to award it to someone else I'm getting @ridire 'd up. :D

ETA: Will be humming Europe all the way home.

Na... your first one didn't count. You're good, I think.

No... you don't. :D

Nice contest CAD, even though thread politics DQ'd me from the race before it started.

Fun stuff. I learned that buffalo has a lot of old buildings and snow and also that it smells like rotting flesh.

Man do I miss the burg. Lived not far from down town for 4 years. If you are in the mood for driving around, take a trip up Beach street, then into coffee pot. Some beautiful historic houses there in Old Northeast. You can park along the street and walk along the bay there for miles with awesome views.
