Old Chub while I let PB Blaster do its thing, anyone else have a Chub while working on their car/truck? [emoji2]

Still trying to remove the manifold? PB blaster is the shi+, heat will help too.
What fasteners are used, reversed Torx?

I know mine should never be an issue, I have the head replaced under warrantee and my brother was working in a dealership at the time, antiseize is wonderful stuff.

More Mild.

I love doing mechanical work. It would help if I had better mechanical abilities though haha. Reference: snowblower "fixing" last winter. ;)

No Chub though.

The manifold is loose, had to loosen the bolts on the underside. The problem, a common Chevy problem, is that the hard on the 2 rear bolts are gone. Trying to remove the rest of the bolt now.

Ok smart folks. 12 lb of 2-row. 1oz magnum at 60 min. The plan is 2oz falconers at 15, 1oz at 5 or 0, and 1 oz dry hop 7 days. I'm wanting lots of flavor from the FF. Should I tweak anything? Also, currently 9 minutes into boil.

I'd do 2 at 15 2 at 0 and 2 dry hop.

Fantastic brew day. Pitched some yeast from other conical, an then also some slurry from the fridge. After I pitch the slurry I notice there's a small cluster of mold on the mason jar's lid. Hope the yeast was fine. Never have had that happen before. Ugh. Worried about DEM brown doe. Yeast looked fine though so I think it was just contained to the lid. Hopefully.

Move 15 to 0. Dry hop for 1 day. Studies showing we dry hop too long. Oils are saturated as little as 6hrs to 24hrs tops. Don't destroy myrcene hop oil..anything above 147F will.

Interesting on the 15 move. Will I still get flavor? Was thinking that would get me aroma only.

Oh ya, since I've switched to this concept, ipas have been much juicier. I also divide the 0min (whirlpool) hops in half. Introduce half at 175f and half at 140f....but didn't want to throw a bunch at you.

Thanks! I'm going to move my dry hop. Will whirlpool the oz. I didn't have the guts to audible my 2oz!
