I'm going to Boulder as well... should be plenty of abandoned dispensaries.

I would torch at least one building to see if you could get an infected/zombie intoxicated and see if it might change their behavior. A side effect would be finding all the normal people in hiding. :D

Edit: Off topic office coffee never got my beer last night but slept better.

Oh hell. Are we Team Boulder or Team Vegas?

I'd go Boulder because public executions ain't my scene.

Boulder. Hell, can you imagine all that beer, just waiting to be drank?

Vegas is practically dry

I'll meet you in Boulder. Not sure how much beer will be left for you guys, but you all can have the sticky icky.

Lets be honest, how many of us would survive to even get to Boulder? I read these dystopian books and think "I'd do this. But in reality I'd be dead in the first wave."

Also I'm drinking coffee, not much uninterrupted sleep last night.

I have no idea what is going on in here right now.
Don't care. Busy slandering some company.
Did just get back from a super fun GHS lecture though.
Today is awesome.

Oh I'd be dead within a couple of days for sure. Nice to think I wouldn't though. I do have a super low population density between me and Colorado going for me. If it goes down in Winter I'm screwed though.

99.4% of you will be dead in the first wave.

Not me though. My BAC prevents any outside microorganisms from gaining a foothold.

If you didn't read The Stand as a weird teen you need to rectify that. I'd send you my copy but I think it's like a cholera blanket, if I didn't toss it ages ago.

I'd say my chances are pretty good, barring some major biological or nuclear fallout situation.

The chances of SD being ground zero for anything like this would be pretty slim and it would probably take a few/several weeks to work itself in this far.

I'm armed to the teeth... so could hold my ground for some time, but food would get scarce within a month or two based on what I have on hand now. My water situation is probably worse, but the river isn't far. I don't have more than 10 gal of gasoline at any one time (excepting what's in the the vehicles at the time), so that could lead to some interesting obstacles.

Of course, if it was in the middle of winter... that would complicate things greatly.

Me neither

TWD related perhaps. No clue.

There was a whisper of latin from duffman. That's all I got.

I might make it part the first wave. Strong immune system, enough survival training to make it for a bit, and I like to think I'm slightly smarter than most. Plus I'm scrawny. I would not be good eating without some serious time in a feed lot. And I have four people to protect.

The only things I've read willingly were Beowulf, a book of short stories by Edgar Allan Poe and For the Love of Hops. Send me another book, I'll put it on my shelf of books people sent me that I need to read. I think there's one slot left before I need another shelf.

I didn't send you my copy of Hyperion did I?

I can't find that ****ing thing anywhere... pissing me off.

If I can book it out of the Metroplex pretty quick I think I can get to Denver with no problems. Full tank in the Focus will get me 370 miles too. I can make the OK/CO border before any Oklahomans realize the fit hit the shan. If they ever do.

I think about this way too often.

How did CAD not read The Stand? Did you at least read The Dark Tower?

Let me check...

- Beowulf
- a book of short stories by Edgar Allan Poe
- For the Love of Hops

Negative. No Dark Tower.

I didn't send you my copy of Hyperion did I?

No you did not. You promised me a copy a year ago, then said you couldn't find it. I have a spot reserved on my shelf for it though, so that isn't a concern.

Ah flocc... I forgot that I couldn't find it.

That's been missing way too long.

I have finished exactly zero books about brewing. OTOH, I have read approximately every dystopian post apocalyptic novel I know of. Maybe a couple less than that.

You could always opt to watch the mini-series.

its a pretty good story

Love of Hops was hard for me to get through. Too many numbers, stats and science facts. Just talk to me about hops, I don't want to read 200 pages of AA%. I've got an apocalyptic, doomsday, zombie epidemic survival plan put together.. almost long for it. The world could use a good culling.

Here. Replace it for 7 bucks.

I've actually been meaning to pick it up too. I'll put it on my Half Price Books wish list. Page three at this point I'm sure.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553283685/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

I got it in 2000 for $2.00 and have probably read it once a year since then (not this year, obviously).

Damn it.

Also, check out http://www.thriftbooks.com/ for used books, usually less than $4 and they have free shipping for orders over $10.
