Sunrises are better than sunsets.

Woke up to 1/2 glass of Nightmare on Brett by my side, so finishing that up along with some coffee.

Got another 5-6 hours on this thing.

Great pictures. Beautiful scenery and killer good looking food. Jealous of all the smokers. So much great food in the thread yesterday and today. Hope y'all have great SB festivities.

Not plastering- plastering is actually an art and a very slow process and completely different product than joint compound; i just used the joint compound to skim over the crap surface to even it out.

:D. The sarcasm is not strong in this one. I fail.

A present from past you to future you?

Had a rousing night of disassembling and cleaning the interior of the dishwasher. A nice de Garde Gose to go along with all the crud we found in different holes of it. Yech.

Café and goat curry leftovers with a nice over easy fried egg on top. Swimming class now, and cleaning the house later. Wooo.... I am such the rabble rouser!

Ooh.., and therein lies the problem.

If you want to brew at a moment's notice... You wouldn't be able to use your hot water heater as an HLT.

Ask anyone. It's been proven.

I prefer my mash to be already done when I roll out of bed on brew day

Not a good week. 18 months? What brand?

Sharp Aquos.

Damn dude. I feel your pain.

Just hooked the new one up, found out some Samsung TVs don't support ARC (audio return channel) via HDMI. WTF, even Vizio does that.

Good news is that Hulu actually works on this TV.

2013 edition.

I'm hoping it's a board or two and a service call will be reasonable. Actually like the picture quality and it fits the entertainment center perfectly.

Breakfast & coffee done, grocery shopping finished before the hordes descend ... now to relax before preparing my contribution to the party at a neighbors house.

Boston Butt was at 200f when I woke up at 6am. Grill was running hot all night I'm guessing. Time to invest in some new thermometers...

Hopefully it is salvageable. I wrapped it in foil and let it rest in the microwave, but the wife thinks it needs to be refrigerated all day and not sit out. So I guess I'll be heating it up again later.

I'm quite jealous. I'd love to play it. Was geeking out some the other day exploring the science of how and why curling stones curl the way they do. Tremendous stuff. Various theories. Seems your Canuck experts and the Swedes' don't see eye to eye. Love watching it but have to wait 4 years between games.

I fear if I played this hack would never get out of the hack. Ba dum tsch... (It's late )

It's a great game; I really enjoy it. This was only my 2nd game of the year, since with my ankle fractures I was taking my time before INTENTIONALLY going on ice haha. Ankle felt good though - it was my knee that was getting very painful after 6 ends; full flexion is a bitch, since it basically didn't bend much for 3.5 months while I was casted.

I've got tickets for the Brier in March, so I'm really looking forward to watching that. I love watching curling; it and baseball are my fave two sports to watch on TV (I swear I'm not boring! Really!).

I'm also a big fan of billiards for the same reasons I like curling - it comes down to a lot of physics.

Still under warranty I hope. Best of luck man. What brand was it? Led, LCD or plasma?

Billiards is my arch nemesis when it comes to games. I can visualize exactly what needs to happen but can't execute for ****. Then I have a couple of beers, loosen up and make a few. That is quickly followed with being unable to sink anything. So I prefer to drink and watch. :)

Man, none of the LHBS near me carry Roesalare. Maybe I just need to suck it up and buy another keg from Morebeer and get the free shipping 'deal' and order it.

Last pork butt i did i purposely let get to 203 and it turned out great. Let it rest an hour maybe and shred it, then refrigerate it.

Morning all. Built a snowman with the fam... Gotta hit the grocery store, which will suck.

I put it in the fridge already. Should have shredded it before that like you said. But will take it out around 3pm and heat it back up, maybe with some beef stock in the pan to keep it moist. Hopefully that does the trick. Not to worried.

Doing a Sou vide later on with some tenderloin using my electric HLT. Never done that before. But at least if one of the two doesn't turn out right the other likely will!

Coffee, just had a burrito. Need to get a run and yard work in before the game.

No smoking here either. Just wings and nachos. One of these days I gotta make some ABTs.

Curling, Cricket, Snooker, Darts, Bowling (the lawn version) are some great games I don't get to watch on TV anymore. Lawn bowls and its indoor version would be right up your alley if you like curling. Really popular in Australia. Barefoot bowling is more beer centered and a cracking way to have a party.

I agree with Fins. I always pull off the heat when internal temp hits 200-205. I've wrapped in foil, a towel - and left in the microwave for 4-5 hours before pulling, and still steaming and pulls perfectly.

So, attempted to do something brewing related yesterday. Went to take a 2-week sample from the fermenter and to check gravity. Walking to the garage with a handful of stuff, and leaned down like a dumb ass, and the hydrometer slid right out of the testing tube and shattered. Doh! Went ahead and filled a frozen glass with a sample anyways. Tasted great, but as anticipated, my accidental 80 degree hop stand didn't add too much for flavor. So, since I now have an excuse to go the LHBS next week for a new hydrometer, I think I'll bump my dry hop from 4 oz to 6 oz. Already have 2 oz each of cascade and citra. Any opinions on more hops? One more oz of each, 2 oz of just one?

Being an IPA purist, I say Add more!!! Go big or go home. Citra will most likely out compete the cascade.

First time using citra. Currently, 2 oz citra and 2 oz cascade will be going in next weekend. I've heard the cat-piss folks talk about citra. Think 2 more oz of citra will be alright?

(Also would be a first dry hopping with 6 oz, but it's going to happen, especially since I FUBAR'd the hop stand.). From the sample, it definitely could use a little extra punch.

Sounds good to me! But I love me some citra as a dry hop. I hear that cat piss analogy a lot too- I have never experienced it; people say that about simcoe too but I also haven't experienced that either and I would use simcoe in almost any beer I make. I have a pale currently in the keg where I whirlpooled with combined 4ozs of mosaic, citra, simcoe and Ella. I did a dry hop with another 4 Ozs of the above and then did a keg hop of 2 Ozs of the above. Amazing hop aroma and flavor. Very fresh and "juicy"

You might try to split the dry hop into 2 additions first one for 7-10 days then a second one for like 3 to 5 days or just use the second as a keg hop

Energy drink. Apparently I was REALLY drunk yesterday, and I'm not sure how. Most all of it is a blur. Basically got home and then slept until around 10am. Fortunately the hangover was when I woke up around 1am, then after going back to sleep it's gone. Still taking it easy today. May brew tonight, may wait until tomorrow night as my wife has to stay late at work.

It's been a good weekend. Caps won yesterday, are winning so far today. Plus Spurs, obviously. Let's Go Caps!
