IT WILL BE!

Nice catch, Bro J Simpson

Used that yesterday.

Sure you want to aerate your sour starters?

IT is actually. I didnt think it would be considering the fear of acetic acid production in the presence of alcohol and oxygen but that isnt the case in a starter. I would only leave it on for a couple days tops too. The dude here (cant remember his name) that owes the yeast bay confirmed this with me awhile back. He said it needs oxygen just like any other yeast, but to keep it out after fermentation is completed to avoid acetic.

Sounds like you're talking about brett starters

I searched the thread and couldn't find it. Reported

Dammit! That was in a PM I sent to Psy last night: "Anyways, back to drinking and murdering ******* like Bro J Simpson". IT was still used!

Just pulled the trigger on a Monster Mill MM2 with all the options. 1/2'' drive, 303 SS roller mills, and extended hopper. I'll be in business this time next week! WOOO!

MTF recommends agitation vs aeration, so maybe slow spinning would be ok.

MTF Wiki

Good info there. I like the practice of using an airlock to keep oxygen out while still being able to agitate it occasionally.

BTW, I need to step up that Amalgamation you sent me and use it here soon. Any ideas for a base beer for that strain?

@wobrien
yea man...check out this place
http://lascalaspronto.com/our-menu/
The crab fries were legit. Quarter pound of jumbo lump crab, melted American cheese, long hots and bacon.

that sounds pretty good. Might be tough to walk there and back from 7th and market in a 1/2 hour though...

Edit: only saw the one at 15th and spring garden, there's one right around the corner from me. Nice.

In related news, a new primos opened and we were among the first 100 customers and got a free hoagie #winning

HA! The one I use now will be in use on sour starters you fool! I'm not just giving up equipment here.

You do realize the bugs don't come in contact with the stir plate, right? No need to have two different plates, Mr. Brofessional Brewer. ;)

That's the one I got - it's a beast and chews through grain like a bronster

Went to Panera to get some lunch and after 15 minutes of not moving just said eff it. Not sure if it was slow assed employees or idiots who couldn't look at the menu before getting to the front. Had to settle for some brotato chips...

Did you negotiate a clause in your pro contract to get an annual allotment for homebrew equipment? Or at least wholesale rates?

Fins...what are the labels you use on your beers. I'm headed to Office Depot and need some

Pale ale, late fruity hops, primary with Amalgamation

Order with the app and then just walk in and pick it up while laughing at everyone. Rookie.

What, seriously?! I've never done a sour starter since I didnt have two sets of stir plates!

Haha I just want one that I always know is available for brett over a week long period. That rarely happens when I only have one stir plate.

I'm pretty pumped about it. Hate that I had to buy it, but glad I will be getting a great product. Now I need to find a motor and build a different chamber for it so I can quit using the damn drilling and standing there like a neanbrothal for 30 minutes.

I wouldn't worry about it. You'll be finished in a lot less time with the drill. I don't find it an issue at all.

Ha no paper work has been filed out yet. I do want to see what they can do about an advanced educational course in the future though. That will come up after awhile of me being there though. I will get short fills now so I couldnt ask for much more.

avery 5160 or 8160, same thing really. Stock up on those bad boys. :D

I was going primary for sure. That's what the brett brawl was essentially, just the ECY version and not many hops. Hoppy brett beer, I like it!
