Finally caught up... Good god, you ladies were chatty today. .
Just weighed 70lbs of grain. About to spend 30 minutes crushing it. Fun.

Having this to calm down. Grain mill rollers stopped grabbing grain after the first two pounds. Fml. About to go funk with it. Really dont want to buy a monster mill. I bought this barley crusher used 2.5 years ago and never had trouble with it though, so i cant complain too much. Why would it do this now though?!?!!!!! View attachment 333688
BW missed the mark for me, but CS was tangy. It's hard for me to imagine a really tangy coffee, but I'm a bit of a coffee noob
Seems to be the new norm, PKU![]()

Rye not?
Breckenridge Agave Wheat. It's beer.
I just don't think I like the taste of agave. I had the last Victory Agave IPA with grapefruit earlier and am not a fan of it.
Damn.... And here I am struggling to build a 7gal RIS with a grain bill of 34lbs.
Good luck!
Stop over, mines ready to go![]()

After a while I had to fully disassemble (rollers and all) my Barley Crusher and fully clean the thing. The passive roller has probably seized. Take it apart, clean it, and it should be good to go. Maybe a tiny bit of olive oil or other appropriate lubricant.
Seems I brought about Bromageddon.
Thanks Val! 37 is a lot for only 7 gallons, mine is for 19 gallons haha.
I wish! Looking at monster mills now unfortunately....
Rye Not is a citra rye saison, lots of citra in a hopstand and dryhop as well. Really good still being this old.
The passive roller was still turning strangely enough. Both of them were moving fine, the active roller just wasnt grabbing the grain at all. I cleaned it off with compressed air and it worked for the next five lbs, then went in and out after that. Got through the first half of the grain after an hour, but I think the mill is shot. The gap is set correctly and the crush hasnt changed. Everything moves fine, the grip on the roller just isnt there anymore.

Dang. Ok. Might need to revisit my plan.
How's that?
You missed my ftfy. Nevermind, was a lame joke. Time for bed.
Maybe you shouldnt act like your buddy Tony Bromo then. You had it coming.![]()

Look here Gabe Vibroda, Tony Romo is an elite QB with a subpar skeleton.
So I have a new mill and am curious, do I need to do anything special before I use it? The hbs is 30 minutes away and only want to make the trip once. ESB is being brewed on Saturday.
