Hah. I lost my accent years ago, (unless I feel like forcing it which I don't do). If we'd moved a year or two later than we did I'd likely still have it. Spelling trips me up sometimes (I'm used to "color" vs "colour" etc, i posted why in the old thread a while back, very mad my first year in US schools when I got marked wrong on a spelling test, but i still get -ise vs -ize confused all the time). But sometimes I phrase things ways I'm not even aware most Americans don't use (or maybe the people who get tripped up by it are just idiots, i don't know). Some are second nature and I don't realize it and couldn't stop myself if I tried (worst when I'm drunk), some I'm plenty aware of and just refuse to give em up. And some I end up using American terms (I use vacation far more than holiday, I seldom use arse, etc). Basically I just talk and spell how I want to and f*** you if you don't like it :mug:

Dood, you sound like a regulor 'Merican 2 me. I did 6th grade math in 2nd grade, but took me to 6th grade to do 2nd grade spelling. American language sucks. I spell the way I pronounced also, and have a Bachelors. Your normal.

Anyone brave enough for hb swaps? I have imperial stout, bourbon stout, soon to be Pilsner/mosaic smash, mango hard lemonaid and soon to be hard raspberry lemonade. I'd be nice to try others. Just throwing it out, PM me if interested.

It's the entire broader "English" language that sucks. I picked up both math and spelling quickly, just so many exceptions even with American English that -ise and -ize often makes me pause a second and check myself. Same thing with -ie- vs -ei- but that goes for both. I'll never know if I picked up math so quickly because we started faster with times tables in the equivalent of Kindergarten, or if I just have a brain for it. Probably a combo of both.

And never thought i wasn't normal. Cobble together bits and pieces from my surroundings just like everyone else. Some stuff sticks around, some doesn't.

Proper night cap.

I have been around UK English and heavy Spanish accent English enough that it does not phase or slow me down. I love seeing other people's faces just lost in what was said.

Heavy English doesn't phase me. Except Cockney which can be tougher. Very thick Irish or Scottish is harder. Heavy Spanish is tougher for me. French is the worst though. Then again most of my experience there is from Quebecois who primarily spoke French (and from what I understand Quebec and France have completely unintelligible languages even for someone fluent in one or the other anyway), not English and were also drunk at the time. That was a challenge. I failed it. Lol.

Yeah that is Philly "tude"

We are only angry because we pay more for gas, booze and probably cigarettes then you NJ folk. The only benefit to being in Philly versus Jerseys is we are allowed to make left hand turns without going through a jug handle and really bad drivers.
:ban:

Here I am. Its good to be missed. I was just too lazy to log in over the long weekend. I am definitely not trying to keep up with a weeks worth of y'alls semidrunken rambling.

Is it a bad thing that I was ready to go back to work yesterday but couldn't. Finally back at work and am kinda happy to be here. Scary.

Well, in the yorkshiremen's defence, it's hard to speak clearly when you're perpetually giving ******** to sheep.

Full Throttle.

Sore as hell... Training while sick is a terrible idea.

Hopefully I start feeling a bit better, my buddy/financial advisor is taking us out for drinks and food tonight at our best beer bar.

Really looking forward to that, because he owes me 3 grand.

Sounds like it might be more like 6 or 7 after the latest woes with stock. My 401k took more of a pounding then @TheCadJockey on a Friday night.

Coffee. What's shakin'?

edit: well that didn't take long...

Yeah, it's pretty ****ty right now.

Going to drink all kinds of beer to try and make up for some of it.

In due time, you impatient bastards! All that money will come back if you dont funk around with it.

:D

I'm taking all of my money and putting it into xbox one games. They can only get more expensive as time goes on, right? Who doesn't want to buy all the Madden games from '05 to '16 as a set?

I cant really argue wth that logic. You should think about a career change!

I still like to call him an ******* and let him know he's doing a terrible job.

Thats half the fun of investing!

Oh, look at Fins, sitting on her cloud of judgement, handing down life lessons to all the sinners.
