Hah. I lost my accent years ago, (unless I feel like forcing it which I don't do). If we'd moved a year or two later than we did I'd likely still have it. Spelling trips me up sometimes (I'm used to "color" vs "colour" etc, i posted why in the old thread a while back, very mad my first year in US schools when I got marked wrong on a spelling test, but i still get -ise vs -ize confused all the time). But sometimes I phrase things ways I'm not even aware most Americans don't use (or maybe the people who get tripped up by it are just idiots, i don't know). Some are second nature and I don't realize it and couldn't stop myself if I tried (worst when I'm drunk), some I'm plenty aware of and just refuse to give em up. And some I end up using American terms (I use vacation far more than holiday, I seldom use arse, etc). Basically I just talk and spell how I want to and f*** you if you don't like it![]()
Dood, you sound like a regulor 'Merican 2 me. I did 6th grade math in 2nd grade, but took me to 6th grade to do 2nd grade spelling. American language sucks. I spell the way I pronounced also, and have a Bachelors. Your normal.
