Night cap of coffee brown and milk stout after the game.

Sounds like it might make a nice blend.

A brew buddy is looking for an adapter to connect an IC to his kitchen sink. Need to go from 3/4" female garden hose to 3/8 female NPT. I've found a way to do it in two steps (male GH-to-3/8 female adapter, then a 3/8 nipple), but haven't found a single adapter that makes that step. Anyone have any advice?

Hope the wife gets well soon @wyobrewer1

Good luck to your kid @supervisingchildren

Wife is staying home with our sick kid today... she just can't shake this nasty bug.

I'm coming around... I can actually taste stuff and breathe out of my nose somewhat. Maybe beer tonight, 2 days dry is 2 days too many.

Man everyone's kids are sick- feel bad for my wife; she has nursing school today from 0800-2100 and our daughter ended up in bed with us coughing and hacking which kept both of us awake. I don't mind taking a sick day, I would much rather be home than at work

Getting sick sucks, no matter what it is.

My cold from last weekend has stuck around this week as a lingering sinus infection. Just some congestion and a cough. Used to happen a lot as a kid, but hasn't been happening as much recently. Mucinex has been helping to just drain everything out and suppress the cough.

Thanks man. And thanks everyone else. We got back from the ER at 1. She has a 9mm stone and that's most likely too big to pass on her own. May need to have the urologist bust it up with some ultrasound.

On the coffee. I at least get a 3 day weekend out of this ordeal!

Damn dude. Hope she feels better. That's a late night at the ER

Yikes! Sorry to hear that, man.

Yikes, best of luck. Does she have a history of stones?

@wyobrewer1 - hope the ultrasound breaks that beast up. 9mm?!?!

French press ... have to go fire up the snow blower in a minute to make sure it is ready to rock and roll all day tomorrow.

Wishing your wife a speedy recovery. I hope never to experience the pain of a kidney stone. Sounds horrendously painful.

Relaxing evening last night with some citra session bullshirt ipa's to warm up for the usual Friday night liver abusing debauchery. Hoping to make it through the rest of the day without any more ridiculous requests at work, starting now. Office coffee.

The mildly insane, slightly manic mood continues for a third day in a row and I kinda like it.

Sidenote: All the sickies need to feel better soon and hope everyone's children are well enough to play in the snow this weekend. Also, if anyone is interested in the much despised "hippy bull****" option... drinking a lot of water, loaded with fresh lemons and a hydrangea supplement can help pass kidney stones naturally.

She got one two years ago when she was nursing our first kid. Same story this time. Our only guess is that she doesn't drink enough water to make up for milk production and gets dehydrated.

Thanks, hoping I don't have to leave work early. Getting stuff done just in case I need to go.

More coffee and some water.

Hey... what do you guys think of this ish?

Robust Smoked Porter
OG: 1.066 - 1.070 (Aiming for 1.070 but never brewed with smoked malt)
Estimated FG: 1.016 @ 77% attenuation

8 lb 2-row
3 lb Rauch Malt
1 lb Munich light
1 lb Crystal 40
6 oz Black patent

Thinking EKG or Fuggles or both to around 35-40 IBU.

Nottingham

The only thing I worry about is if the roast/smoke will be too harsh if I dry it out too much with Notty.

Having some coffee at work. Have taken it easy on the beer drinking this week but I have hopslam waiting at home to be enjoyed. Hope you east coasters are staying warm and safe.

I have some suggestions, but you probably wouldn't follow them, anyway.

Seems heavy on the Rauch, but I haven't brewed with it so I'm not sure how strong a flavor it imparts. If you're bottling and willing to sit on it if it is too strong, then no biggie.

More French press as I get ready for a string of phone interviews...
