I'm brewing in IPA. Bittered with Columbus flavor aroma and dry hopping with Amarillo, Citra, galaxy and Centennial. I'm fermenting it with wyeast 1217 West coast IPA. This will be my first time using that strain. I brew in my garage

Havent used that strain before either but it sounds good!

The biggest challenge of brewing in this kind of cold is the hoses freezing up and pipes bursting I eliminate that issue by having 1 1/4" vinyl tubing with garden hose adapters that I run from inside the house out to the attached garage. The water discharging from the wort chiller runs out into the middle of my yard creating an ice rink but it'll thaw eventually no biggie.

I just bottled farmhouse rye versions 8 & 9. I love that beer. 8 got Citra and Galaxy hops and 9 got Amarillo and Citra hops

Having a Saison I fermented with Wyeast 3726 Farmhouse and Jolly pumpkin Bam bier dregs. It took 3 months for the Jolly pumpkin drugs to do anything at all but this is now the best beer that I've ever brewed it's amazing

So.... I believe someone from Pena made a mention of kids activities a while back. thinking of a weekend trip with just me and the 6yo away from the house up that way to allow SWMBO time to get stuff done. Suggestions?

You could go to Hershey chocolate world and then have lunch in the Troegs tasting room. If you wanted to go all the way up to Easton, the Crayola factory experience is cool; obviously tons of historical stuff in Philly (if you go to the constitution center they usually have some scout requirements that can get knocked off pretty easily) After this week, skiing might finally be an option (you don't have to go all the way to the Poconos either)

Water before treadmill. I'm really glad I made the call last week to skip the trip to CT - it's a tad brutal out there this morning with the wind chill.

If your kid is into something different and doesn't frighten easy, the Mutter Museum is awesomely macabre. The natural history museum pales in comparison to the one in DC but they do have some great exhibits featuring dinos. The u of p museum isn't far from there and has very unique exhibits to include Egyptian artifacts. Not to mention there is a candy shop or fresh bakery every four feet in the city.
Hershey is a great trip, but the height requirements are pretty stringent. Dorney park has good rides with somewhat lenient height requirements.

Mutter Museum is awesome but was incredibly crowded when we went.

There's a somewhat similar but smaller museum our way attached to the Walter Reed Annex up in Forest Glen. Plus Forest Glen Seminary across the street is worth a trip in its own right.

Also, another case for the Philly area if you opt to make it a weekend. 30-45 minutes away, depending on traffic, Valley Forge. It makes for a great hike, so much history you are literally falling over it. George Washington's head quarters, the National Memorial Park, Continental troops quarters. Its a great way to spend a few hours at the minimum.
