Lego's have huge manuals that you need to follow to build 'correctly' and if software or video games have a manual, you have already lost most users...

Yeah, and you could buy big tubs in the 80's too.. or.. packages that had instructions. Because I wasn't thinking this up and building it on my own when I was four years old.

I had a stick and a hoop🙄

We built tree houses, carved sticks and "sword fought" with them (like psylocide, except cooler), and blew stuff up with firecrackers. My parents didn't have many toys from me to pack in the attic.

If you ever make it up this way, I'd be honored to invite you to our gym.

I dunno man, some Lego art is just...epic.
This one is from Downtown Disney

I agree the Lego kits are really cool, I've spent hours with my son building Star Wars kits.
But when he wants to create his own stuff, he gets on Minecraft to do that. He has spent hours building castles, animals, minions, etc in a video game because it gives him unlimited blocks with unlimited color selections. It's just a different tool to express his creativity. Maybe I'm just jealous

Oh, wasn't bragging.. just excited and reminiscing. I didn't actually play with my toys (aside from the LEGO). My friend always got mad, he always wanted me to bring action figures over and I wouldn't because of how rough he was with his. I rather set them up on shelves and leave them be.

Outdoors was my thing. Used to make and carve so many bows and piles of arrows. It's amazing I never seriously injured one of my brothers, more than once. Each.

I imagine it would go something like this

Na... first we'd teach you how to move and swing the jukdo.

It's weird walking with your left heel off the ground at all times, a lot of people struggle with just that part.

No one suits up until they obtain their first rank, then it's game on. I loooooove sparring the noobs. I go about 75% and really get excited when you can see someone 'gets it.'

We have this one dude now, he originally did European fencing... guy is like 6'6" and is just dangerous as hell for how new he is. I actually give him ~90% and he can hang somewhat.

Maybe your previous experience with larping as a kid would help you in the same way.

I don't think anyone thinks you're bragging. It's fun to reminisce about the things we had as kids.

Those were the good ole days, I miss those. Everything now is in a kit, it leaves little to imagination.
That said, nothing was more bad ass then putting together the multi-thousand piece millennium Falcon. I'll post a few pics of that monster when I get home.

I imagine it is the same one that Eric built in That 70's Show?

Cool, was just curious really. IMO, 'aged' and 'IPA' hardly belong in the same sentence, which is why I asked about the aroma.

I finally get to try the standard version very soon here. Pretty excited for that.

Depending on how they 'age' it, it's not necessarily very aged. You can put something on oak chips and get a lot of oak character pretty quickly. That being said, I find wood aging certain things cancels a lot of non-wood aromas out. Hops are one, and coffee is another.

I learned something last night. When you spike Busch Heavy with DMS, it really doesn't change much. It basically just becomes 'more'.

I did a whiskey oaked saison once, think it was 2 oz of chips into 5 gal during primary and it did pick up some oak after the 5 days it was in there, but not much. That was on me though, method sucked.

I guess a week or two on chips that aren't buried in trub would probably produce some decent oak flavor without completely killing the hops.

And yeah, Busch heavy is gross without the added DMS.

I've been moving and swinging the jukdo for years now....

Word.

Actually, adding wood chips during primary can be pretty beneficial. It will pick up more of the vanilla/oaky, but leave out some of the harsh flavors that can come from wood chips. Like you said though, probably just user error. :D

Well, I just dumped them in loose and most sank into the trub, so... Yeah, user error. Or, user knew better and was lazy.

Still got some oak, but the whiskey dominated.

I think the method was fine, probably just needed another week or so.

Cool... I'll keep that in mind for the next one. I don't think I'll do another whiskey saison though. The straight version was much better.

That's what I get for listening to Wes.
