Quick update on the @Gavin inspired Founders Randalled with poached eggs: the yoke added a nice, creamy mouthfeel, but definitely ruined the head. Should have added bacon for extra smokiness.

any sort of fatty substances will kill head retention. I dunno if there is anyway around it. Adding bacon kills head retention and leaves a slick film on the surface. Kind of pretty to look at under the right light

There should be a share the night before, but I haven't heard about what hotel others are staying at. That Marriot is like $350 a night. I'm not staying there.

Yeah, all the less expensive rooms have been gone for a few weeks at least. There aren't any cheap rooms anywhere in that area, honestly. On the bright side, there is Uber. If you don't have an account, let me know, and I'll send you a referral link that will get us both a free ride.

I stayed at the Tampa Marriott Westshore last year, and it's a clean place for about half that price.

I didn't think you were serious. Thanks for reporting your experiment results. I would love to see a picture if you decide a second try is in order. (Doubling your sample size in one fell swoop)

Yup. Had no idea that was the case or I would have booked before. I haven't booked yet but will ASAP. It's hard to do it from the airport.
2nd screwdriver. I'll sober up on the plane and get my rental car.

Shot of grenadine

Yeah, sounds good for my 15° brew day on Saturday.

Since you said you want to get into server/network/core infrastructure stuff, negotiate for 'tuition / certification' reimbursement along with time to attend those classes (during class, get paid like at work). Even if the internal career path doesn't pan out, you should get enough of an alphabet after your name that they will need to keep you in some roll or you can move to another company rather easily.

This, too. In this area, at the very least get a Security+ CE cert; pretty much du rigueur for an IT position in the GOVT space. Which is pretty much everything around here. If you really hate yourself, look into CASP.

Get that on your own dime, but make them pay for the bigger certs (MCSE, CCNA, etc).

For those who were concerned and those who were not... just got brutally sick for the last two days.
