With all these 8 bottle limits going around, sounds like you guys will need some help storing it. I will gladly help.

This is vintage, right?

yes on weekends off. I have worked the shift before on sundays and some holidays (and god is it slow and boring then). I have helped out on occasion to cover on others and the shift is better but not near as busy as what I currently do. And I can not say I am not encouraged by the career path part. I tend to get comfortable where I am when working and need motivation or something to get me moving otherwise.

Looks amazing. Will have to see if I can arrange a learn to crap night sometime.

Yes. The current day shift guy has 5+ weeks a year. Vacation taking here is not so much of a problem as long as you plan it out in advance.

Since you said you want to get into server/network/core infrastructure stuff, negotiate for 'tuition / certification' reimbursement along with time to attend those classes (during class, get paid like at work). Even if the internal career path doesn't pan out, you should get enough of an alphabet after your name that they will need to keep you in some roll or you can move to another company rather easily.

I have my nightshift allotment coming in next week, if there is any interest

Depending on what you have to offer, there is interest. I am only trading a couple of bottles this year, so if you are interested shoot me a pm and we will set something up.

It's not a repeater, at least not a RF repeater. The network extenders turn your cell call into an IP call - they move the call onto your local network and onto the internet. Copper ftw.

I always learn new info other than brewing every day here.

OT Fake Marble counter top. Quartz product from LG that came out last year.

I mean divide, co! I have only bought a couple but i love to give them as gifts. I think they age everything in oak
At 7 to 8 a beer I start bailing

At $13 a bottle, it wasn't too bad for what it is. Barrel aged sours run high for a reason and this wasn't too high to scare me away. Now I'm really glad i picked it up. Fantastic beer!

See below, but replace @hawgwild81 with me!

Guys, I'm central to everyone. Send them to me and I'll make room in the cellar.

Ok I have a work/social life balance delimma question for you fine upstanding people.

Since my job pays for my hobbies this is obviously work related. I was approached by someone at work. This person can hold up to the promises he made today. He says that the powers that be want to switch me from my amazing 6:30a-3:15p shift to a crappy social life killing 3pm-11 pm one as a shift lead. I am in my mid 30s have no wife, no kids, though am dating serially but have nothing serious worked out currently. The guy asked me what it would take to convince me to take on this position. More money is pretty much guaranteed, I could probably work out more vacation time as well. I was also offered a chance to set a more rigid career path of "I work at this for X then I need to get to be doing Y within this amount of time".

So my question is, what would you ask for? How much of an increase? Vacation? or should that be a bargaining chip if I cant get as high of a wage as I want. Is it worth the guaranteed progression? Discuss. I have to have an answer by tomorrow afternoon.

Depending on where you work, you almost have to take it or you might be perceived as the guy that doesn't help out or want to advance his career (so says the cynic in me). That said, if you think 1 morning shift every 2 or 3 weeks is what you need to have a social life, then tell them that's what you want. You could work something out with the day shift lead, but it's better to be up front if that is important to you. There might be other options if the morning lead isn't on board (compressed schedule?). Definitely make it clear that you will do this for X amount of time and then you expect Y (promotion, different hours, etc.), unless this is already a big step up and puts you where you want to be.

Someone mentioned training/education... that's a good idea too. While I agree you should thank them for the opportunity, remember that they are doing it because they think you are the best person for the job. Don't short yourself.

Now, excuse me while I poke around in the cellar for the first drink of the evening.

Time to find out what the big deal is about this one.

Belly full of this.

With some lobster tail (no pic, you know what it looks like).

New toy might replace a bunch of other cooking gadgets.

Looks amazing. Did you do the steak with your new Sous Vide gadget?
How was the texture?

I add a ton of lactic acid to get my mash pH down to 5.2. I'd prefer phosphoric acid, but my LHBS didn't have it. I've got some on my amazon cart though.

I've got a German pilsner on tap that I brought down to 5.2 with lactic and I can't detect any flavor contribution from the lactic. I probably added 10mL to a 10g batch.

You've probably already read this @passedpawn but here is a great experiment on lactate in beer and how easy/hard it is to perceive.

Got my first Pils on tap at the moment. Won't be the last.:D

After hell trying on their ticket site.

HBT party at Huna '16

^This^ We're flying in early Friday (and home late Sunday). Going to be staying at the Marriott right next to the park. The only unfortunate thing is that there will be no line bottle shares or inside bottle shares (no outside alcohol allowed in, and no lines forming until 10am). Guess we'll have to set something up the night before or maybe morning of at the Marriott. lol

Witbier sample. Closest thing to a beer I'm getting all week. At least it all went according to plan, except maybe could have fermented it a degree or two warmer, but didn't want to pull out the heated blanket.

The one person that everyone will recognize because Toby looks 100% like his picture.
I don't see much of a need for an inside bottle share with 400+ free samples inside. Before/after will be plenty brutal to the kidneys

Im fine without the share and do not want to haul a cooler around. We are going to drink our asses off anyway.

Yes, it was delicious. Some parts of the cut were different than others.

I love rare steak, I found it was very similar to traditionally cooked beer but without the grey layer near the exterior. As you can see mostly uniform coloring the edge. The small amount of gray was from searing with a torch.

Can't wait to put a beef tenderloin in it.
