Watching the candy shops on the boardwalk in Wildwood NJ is still a favorite. I try to buy up as much salt water taffy as I can while I'm there. they make for great extras when shipping out beer to peeps.
I still have a few pieces left. I believe I'll get one now. :D
I don't think we have anything remotely close to as cool as La Kings, though. That place looks like the ultimate throw back.

La Kings is such a great place. I recommend anyone visiting Galveston to go there. I've been going since I was a little kid. The candy selection is crazy, the ice cream is amazing, and the malts have always been my personal favorite thing to get there. I can, and have, spent hours in there workin on the diabeetus.

If I ever cruise out of Galveston I'll be sure to check it out. Old school architecture I can admire for hours. Probably my favorite art form...I mean I think the Brooklyn Bridge is the most beautiful piece of American architecture and an engineering marvel.

Galveston is right up your alley then.View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1455808393.848600.jpg

That's just scouting from my phone for my daughter. She got some awesome shots with her DSLR.

You will love it. There tons of old mansions down there. Galveston was a huge city before a hurricane destroyed it.

Bishops Palace. Didnt see the above post. My pics better.

If you do cruise out of galvestion, I'll meet you there and have a few drinks and eats before heading out :rockin::ban:

The snark is strong at work today and pass the buck is in full effect.
Praying one of my resumes is picked up soon...

House feels like it's going to blow apart. This is how my morning is going.

I live just off of said Outer Drive. We sit a little bit below where that gust was measured so we get more like 50 mph gusts at the house.

Dang we get gusts to the 30's and that gets enough of my attention. Really poured enough last night that I went and checked around the house for flooding. Speaking of the weather hope @val214 didn't get washed away.

I don't have time for all that **** though, just gimme a double chocolate or chocolate and coconut.

I didn't realize other types of donuts take longer to eat.

I grabbed a bacon topped one and bolted from the scene. It was good, and worth not sharing.

I miss old school candy shops. Growing up I remember the 'penny candy' shops...remnants of the 60's and 70's. Nothing was a penny at all, but they had all this obscure candy that's damn near impossible to find now. I mean, I could order those foam like UFO's with candy pellets from China now, but its not the same as walking to the store on a summer Saturday morning with a dollar to buy bulk candy.

There is an old time candy shop in Estes Park that my kids go nuts over every time we are there. Not as fancy as some of the others shown, but a heck of a selection.

My patio furniture got blown all over the back yard last night. Assume it will do it again today when at work.

Oh yeah?

Go take a bite of that M&M one... I guarantee that approx. 50 of those dirty cocksuckers fall off and roll around all over the damn place. Then you'll try to pick them up from under the desk - your chair rolling over 3 or 4 in the process - leaving crushed little chocolate bastards in your wake.

Time. I don't has it.

I'll keep you posted. Might be another year or two before I do a cruise again. Long enough for the little one to experience a boat ride and get some sea legs before hand. I'll definitely take you and everybody else up on a beer, though
:mug:

Some d hole I bet.

Meh, nothing beats a fresh plain glazed donut. When they're still so warm, they just melt into nothing when you eat them.

I guess we agree on something at least. If you insist on shoving a diabeetus sugar burger in your face, glazed donut, right out of the oven.
