I am having a weird craving for the black Licorice chews that my mom used to get for my grandfather. Cant remember the brand or anything else about them other than that they were blackish green. Anyone like it enough to have some suggestions?

Was it salty black licorice? Or just plain old nasty black licorice? My wife loves the salty stuff. It's a Scandinavian thing. I could probably have her rattle off a dozen different brands. Makes me want to hurl.

Water. Scout meeting last night was at the pack's blue & gold and we crossed over three webelos to the troop. Fun night but so damned noisy! @ChefRex I only did five weeks on the mango, but my beer was a saison without bugs so I would definitely give it more like two months before testing it.

That's a dang cold basement! I'm planning on brewing up a maibock this weekend. Been a few years since I last made one.

Those had white & pink candy shells around rock-hard licorice. Definitely a favorite of the older generations, but don't think they fit the "greenish" memory. Good n Fruity on the other hand...

I miss old school candy shops. Growing up I remember the 'penny candy' shops...remnants of the 60's and 70's. Nothing was a penny at all, but they had all this obscure candy that's damn near impossible to find now. I mean, I could order those foam like UFO's with candy pellets from China now, but its not the same as walking to the store on a summer Saturday morning with a dollar to buy bulk candy.
