Im brewing today. Gotta run to the brewstore first. Picking up some hops and a bunch of brown malt. Still no idea what I'm going to do with it yet.

Thinking:
2Row
Maybe 10% brown?
5% pale choc
Some med crystal
think some biscuit is needed or does the brown give enough?

Probably 1.050 range, 25 or 30ibu. Prolly gonna suck. Whatever, least it won't be made in warm plastic carboys.

Biscuit would hurt. 8oz to lb should work. I used some for my brown. Now its slumbering in a bourbon barrel right now.

Sun is shining, may take the kids to the lake or something.

Bought a heart shaped ribeye last night, basically a thick ribeye butterflied. I'll probably throw that on the grill later.

Hope everyone is having a good morning.

Breakfast done and back home. May have a cup of French press after walking the dog sinc it's a bit nipply out.

Then have to work with the son on the meal planning for winter camp in two weeks - need to price ingredients at a few places to ensure we stretch the food budget as far as possible. Then beers.

Is that a hop bag in the carboy? Looks like my dog's turds.

Two hop bags actually. Big beer, so a lot of coffee went in there. Your dog has some strangely shaped turds.

Drinking a cup of that same coffee with a half shot of half and half and a double shot of Godiva chocolate liqueur. You can't drink all day unless you start in the morning.

Coffee, 1 hr drive to a 2 year olds birthday party. Not looking forward to it. Oh well, get to see my cousin who just lost her mom.

@TobyG
I need to add a valve to my better bottles, where did you get the valve?

I don't recall exactly at this point. I'm sure it was either Midwest, Northern Brewer, or Austin Homebrew Supply. They're expensive, but they last a long time. Nonedit: Just looked up orders. It was Midwest and part of a kit with the bottles. It looks like they don't stock them anymore since they went to their own big mouth bubblers.

Found them, wow they are expensive. May just go with a simple valve for the old carboys I have now and replace them in a year or so.

Thanks

Folding laundry and doing dishes. Time for a carbonated beer, since that flat coffee stout was drainpoured. Green Flash Hand Shake ipa, friends.

Trying to get a brew session in today, not sure if it'll happen.

You'll make a good wife one day!

I'm kidding, drank my first beer earlier while doing the dishes.

Finishing up my second and debating whether I should have a third or go out to lunch, or both.

Coffee earlier and now at Texas A&M campus to visit and explore majors. Is it wrong to try and guide them into something that could be brewing related?

Hahaha I am the good wife. Even let the misses sleep in while I got son up to hockey! Since I brew on my stove, I need to get all the dishes out of the way. Almost done with them all. Swmbo just took the kids to our friend's house, so I get to enjoy a peaceful afternoon.

Cleaning my gear, then running to the store. Gotta fix Swmbo's headlight later in 0° so she doesn't get pulled over again for it. That'll be super fun...

Yeah, looked around, and they cost almost as much as I paid for the whole setup (including the better bottles) 5 or 6 years ago. That being said, at this rate, I'll get 10-15 years out of them. Might have to get a $6 O-ring set in a year or 2.

Surly Furious while on break from down hill skiing with the kids. This place also has enjoy by black on tap. For a slope side bar I'm impressed!

35 and sunny. And beer.

I love Keystone! Stop where you are pretty often. That BBQ place is the bomb. The snow maker I hit is on bottom of the blue run leading to that spot. That black to your left under the lift not pictured is legit too. Cheers Mike! :mug:
