YEAST:
Wyeast - Denny's Favorite 50 1450

What was your fg? With Denny's, Citra and Mosaic, I can see on my system that would be like a tropical fruit salad. Low on the crystal and Malt building varieties which I like. Seems as though you have to build a completely different beer depending on yeast. Also if you are using 2 row or pale ale base Malt.

I'm just killing time, getting work done before going to a university seminar this evening. I was accepted to the MHA programme last year but deferred my enrollment as I was offered a new job with a sizable raise. The Dean of the MHA programme wants me to re-apply for this year though, so he keeps inviting me to functions.

Want to sing a song with me? Ready?

Mock

YEAH!

Let me have this. I started it damnit.

I said I'd chill and do work after I realized my Snark-O-Meter was turned up to 11, but if you're shining the Snark Signal..

It's Zero Snark Thirty Brosephine

Yes, but I don't think @finsfan 's mom can make it to everyone's house by Saturday. Oh...maybe we're talking about two separate things...

She is centrally located. If she flies Southwest...

Any ever get a chalk like feel in their imperial stouts? Sensed it in some retails also including black IPAs, but attributed it to black patent. First time for my beer however, just wondering what that is.

Masters in How to make Alcohol?

@BeerMeDuffMan you get any shaking over there?
Stuff shaking in south Jersey, nothing crazy but several times.
No confirmation on an earthquake but something happening here.

It could be from the malt, true. It could be from a calcium rich water supply, too, I think

I've gotten something like that from yeast... It was more powdery than chalky, but I think those are similar.

I thought it was just me, it felt like a light rumble like a big truck passing under us. No ratcheting or anything though

:edit: it is a big truck for me...snow removal trucks going through the city
For you, its something much cooler:

Looks like it would be awesome if you took out the mayo and put in bacon jam. Just saying...

Received a box from @finsfan today....
Thanks again, man. Hopefully you learned a valuable lesson.

To wait until the championship game to bet against the Pats?

Nothing out by Valley Forge. What did you have for lunch? Taco Bell? That could be the problem. ;)

Sounds amazing. Gonna save this one.

I'm pretty excited about it based on the sample this morning. Probably be a rebrew in a few months when its gone!

Sorry @finsfan , accept this as a peace offering and I'll just go back to drawing stupid lines:

Haha love that video, saw it a few days ago.

Are we still busting Fins chops.

It wouldn't have it any other way!

The reading I took today was 1.017, but I ramped the temp up a bit and give it a little nudge to get the yeast going. Not as tropical as I thought it would be actually. I think the Columbus helped with that. I used American 2-row for this beer. Only used pale ale malt in a few beers before. I had the 1450 for the RIS Im about to do so thought I would give it a go with this beer and I'm not disappointed at all, very clean.

^I just mix my mayo with sriracha. Probably way cheaper.

Probably cheaper, I can guarantee you it isnt as good though. I've had other chipotle mayos before and this blows them all out of the water.

Hopefully you learned a valuable lesson.

Just be lucky I didnt go double or nothing with you.
