did you do a couch to 5K kind of thing to get started? I'm trying to get motivated, but haven't figured out what to do. Looking for options

Nope. There's a Gold's Gym literally across the street from us, and my wife and I both decided no more excuses. We went in, they gave us a decent rate, and we've just kept at it. Started in April or May of last year. We're both ~60 lbs down, I've lost 10 inches off my waist and packed on a boatload of muscle. Never been able to do pullups in my life (always had leg strength, not as much upper body, I was a footballer and focused my efforts as such). Now I can do one or two dead hang pullups, 4 or 5 kipping. Plus weights. Lots of weights. Substantially more at high reps that even my previous 1RM was. And running. But I still f***ing hate running.

Tomorrow I'm gonna crank the speed and see if I can't crack a 10 min mile, which I haven't done since high school.

Why run? Are people chasing you? :p

I suppose it's best to be prepared in case someone is, innit?

Congrats on the whole getting in better shape. Gives me hope it can be done. Don't think I've ever cracked a 10 min mile.

Another beer and an open faced baked rueben. Never ran from the cops... except for all the times I didn't get caught.

Favorite story was when swmbo was driving on our way to vacation and was pulled over for speeding ~12 over. Our daughter thought she was gonna be arrested and put on the news. Gotta love little kids.

Yes.

Don't have to run if you are willing to turn and fight.

With a stick.

Good on ya for sticking to it. 4 mile run down this morning. Hate running on the treadmill, but not crazy enough to run outside in this. Beer/homebrewing podcasts help pass the time. Sour Hour, Basic Brewing Radio, Steal this Beer, etc

Full Throttle. Which was how fast I was going last night... Which is a bad idea on banked turns.

And I forgot to take a damn pic of that thing put together.

Guess I missed the running from the law talk but I'm not hungover so it's going to be a rough day.. you get to share it. Only times we had to run from them, was when they'd catch us putting jumper cables on RR tracks to make the gates go down so we could **** with passing cars. The cars which often came an hour apart, being in the country.. so we pretty much drank on the tracks and smashed **** all night. Then we'd get found out and tear ass into the woods. Only one cop ever chased us into the woods, but he got stuck on the barbed wire fence we all knew about. Good times.

Coffee. Clear head and irritable.

You broke it before your daughter even got to play with it, didn't you?

Having some McDonalds coffee and a sausage burrito. Wife ended up having surgery yesterday to remove the kidney stone. Didn't get discharged until 11:30 last night. Gonna be a long day.

Chitty tire shop waiting room coffee. Picked up a nail plus it was time for a balance and rotation. It amazes me that a company that specializes in tires and batteries only has one guy working the tire side of the shop.

Haha... no, we had a great time.

However, most of it was me running both cars or her running to get her car after she instinctively squeezes the trigger all the way and send the car rocketing across the room.

But I had an idea, tonight I'm going to take a piece of electrical tape and tape it around the 'gun' so she can only pull the trigger to half throttle. That way she can tool around and I can work on my speed laps.

Also, hope the wife recovers quickly @wyobrewer1 .
