It doesn't fit this thread, but I'm excite for 4elf and have been laughing my ass off at this, so this is where it goes.

I'll be there if I can con someone from Indy into driving up with me this year. That was a hell of a 1-day trip last year. I'm almost convinced that Dark Horse created that line on purpose to ensure that all were sober by the end of it.

I can assure you I was nowhere close to sober by the end.

I guess I just assumed that the hedonistic all-you-can-eat wild game buffet that is 4elf is what it's like to live in TX.

Am I wrong??
Sadly, most of those kind of parties tend to feature Bud Light in TX.

We have good beer here, but thanks to the fact that you can't buy beer to go at production breweries, these kind of events don't exist.

Enjoy the party and still get your bottles? CHECK!

Now where am I going to find a DD to pull my car around to the cooler garage to load up all the beer I'm taking home to share hoard?

I wouldn't be so quick to assume Dark Horse has found the silver bullet. Kuhnhenn did the exact same thing for Breakfast of Champions (BB French Toast release) and it was a total clusterfuck for anyone that wasn't waiting several hours before the doors opened.

Should I feel comfortable leaving my car full-o-beer parked there overnight while I stumble back to the comfort inn? Not sure how nice the area is....and not sure how much I trust all you fuckers.

It's Marshall. You'll be fine.

Any other michigan dudes want to go halfsies on a room?

I give good back rubs and sleepwalk naked.

You're welcome in advance.

For all of you unable to attend FOBAB, Dark Horse brought out BA 6 Pairs of Legs Porter and Where the Wild Things Macerate with Raspberries. Both were totally drinkable.

Anything that helps me to avoid blindly buying some of these beers is much appreciated. Did you like them enough that you will be buying them at 4Elf?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but no one has tried these yet, right?:
  • Brandy 4Elf
  • Top Fuel Barley Wine
  • 13th Anny (and we don't even know the style, right?)
  • BBA Long Polymer John Donut

BB 6 Pairs was just okay IMO. I'd rather spend the money on BCBS, personally.

I thought Where the Wild Things Macerate was one note. Again, I'd rather buy something different for the money.

I'm assuming it's Blackberry BB Plead the 5th based on the barrels that were on racks last year at 4elf.

Pretty sure Top Fuel was on at the Detroit Fall Fest... it was drinkable, more barleywine than barrel age from what I remember. I'd like to try it again before determining if I would purchase any.
