I am trying to polish a keg and Lowes doesn't have the gatorgrip disk, but instead the 3M surface conditioning discs. I bought the backing pad, but there isn't enough threads on my angle grinder for both the backing pad and the surface conditioning discs. Anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks.

The backing pad should have had a "deep" threaded nut that screws down over the angle grinder. You won't be able to attach it with your "oem" grinder nut.

It came with a nut but it was still too short. I just beat the crap out of the internal nut on the backing pad to give me more clearance. It may not be the best way to go, but it worked.
