If I get 1.063 in three gallons what would the O G be if I boosted the volume up to four gallons with the same amount of grains?

Ignoring the increase in lauter efficiency, it's a matter of spreading those same gravity points over 4gal vs 3gal.

63*3/4=47

1.047

With the increased efficiency factored in, maybe ~1.050 or so? The efficiency increase is due to a greater percentage of the total water volume making the trip to the kettle. Your loss to grain absorption will remain the same.

I'm sure Doug will chime in with a few charts.

Thanks, for some reason I was brain farting and wasn't sure.
