24 hours lighter color

Is it normal for the tea to lose color within 24 hours? There doesn't appear to be any other activity yet but the color is significantly lighter. The mother has been floating mid jar

24 hours seems fast, but not unusual. Mine always ends up much lighter and cloudier than what I started with. Couldn't tell you how fast though, I've been using an opaque vessel for many months.
