Kicking myself for not buying soon enough and missing out on Nectarine Island and Rey. Guess I'll have room to add some Lemon Season now though.
Damnit....Kicking myself for not buying soon enough and missing out on Nectarine Island and Rey. Guess I'll have room to add some Lemon Season now though.
Yeah I'm actually more excited to grab bottles of Table Pale this weekend than anything. After Lemon Season being amazing, I am stupid excited about Table Pale. These 375s are my favorite thing in the beer world right now.
Low carb, but a deffo hiss on openingSo busted my GBC cherry HARD and had a bunch of them over the weekend.
First was Blackberry Oro, which ended up being my least favorite of everything I tried. Didn't dislike it at all, but just wasn't wowed and felt it was a fairly run-of-the-mill American wild. If I'm being honest, considering this was my first taste of GBC, I actually had a brief moment of dread. But then I had Lemon Season and that **** is bangin' - really enjoyed the spice from the saaz hops to compliment the lemon, it was just something very different and refreshing. Feeling better.
Next night we had a big FW Anniversary tasting, but I rolled out some GBC before and after. George was first and that was lovely. I know arren didn't have a great experience but I thought it was damn good - very light bodied and bursting with peach, I would crush the **** all day in the summer if I could afford it. Didn't pick up the aforementioned acetic/kombucha notes. Later we did Solera, Cobwebs and Nectarine Oro and they were all ******* FIRE. We had Solera and Cobwebs side-by-side and the room was pretty evenly split on preference. I gave the nod to Cobwebs - it has a nice, underlying funky minerality that touches me in the right places. The bottle of Nectarine Oro we had was phenomenal - so much damn fruit, it was seriously like drinking a nectarine.
Any doubts/worries were absolutely squashed after that. I am happy as **** to have joined this club and can't wait to see what the future brings. golden, you guys are doing awesome work and my hat is off to you. Cobwebs and Nectarine Oro are seriously two of the best beers I've had this year and I will be loading up on bottles - especially Cobwebs, really think that is a special beer.
Now, on a more dour note - I'm settling into a Wild Lady for the evening and it is basically still. I know someone here was spouting off about low-carb bottles last year, but I've had absolutely no issues with anything until this one. A bummer b/c the yeast character and acidity are really quite nice. Anyone else have carb issues with Wild Lady or is this just an off bottle, mayhaps?
