Today was the day for 2 brews. The first was a single malt/single hop session beer.

EKG Ale:
9 pounds Maris Otter
2 oz East Kent Goldings (60 min.)
1 oz EKG (10 min.)
1 oz EKG (0 min.)
Nottingham yeast, re-hydrated.
Single step infusion 150. 60 minute boil. Batch sparged.

Beer two:
Amarillo Ale
8 pounds 2 row
1 pound Crystal 30
.5 pound Munich
1.5 oz Amarillo (60 min.)
1 oz Amarillo (10 min.)
1 oz Amarillo (0 min.)
Nottingham yeast re-hydrated.
Single step infusion 153. 60 minute boil. Batch sparged.

Great day. No major problems. Hit my gravity readings and ran out of propane at 55 minutes on beer#2. So.....yeah.
 
With the shortage of hops and the price of grain rising, I've taken Orfy's cue and started to really enjoy the simple clean beers. How can you go wrong with MO and EKG?

Yep. A spare propane tank is chore number one for Monday morning...fill the empty, get a spare.
