I am going to brew a 10 gallon batch of AG American IPA. I am going to ferment in two 6.5 gallon carboys. I am going to use washed yeast. Do you think I would be ok using one 2L starter and splitting between the two carboys? If so should I use one or two jars of 1/2 pint washed yeast. I usually use one jar in a 1L flask. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You can use the same amount of yeast as usual to start your starter, just use more extract and more water. You can split the same starter between the two batches easily.

The doubling time of yeast is approximately 60 minutes, so give it at least one extra hour to make twice as much yeast as you would for a 5 gallon batch.
