My in-laws have a TV on their patio too. I'm sure my FIL would be stoked to have everyone over if they all brought beer haha

We had a cable line ran out back years ago. They begged us to stay with them and bah by. We had this antenna in our attic and I switched that to the main and ka-pow we had hd free tv. Realized we couldnt see old tube tv so got a cheap tv on black Friday. Craigslist entertainment center and some computer speakers. Hand me down rug and it is hog heaven. You like football, me too. I was an all state tackle in colorady. Years of leading with my dumb head did me in. Anyways, cheers, would love to drink coffee and beer and watch football with any of you.

Man I seriously would thoroughly enjoy a rendezvous like this. That would be quite the party. Maybe too much for me, now that I think of it haha.

So i had a few beers and threw my name into the hat for a coffee swap over @ the GCBC... well i got paired up a couple days ago was like oh crap.. i said id do that didn't I?

Anyways - got paired up with a fellow home-brewer that is sending BBA Coffee RIS!!!!! Super damn excited to try that beer out. I'm sending some home-brew in the coffee swap as well.

Anyways - got to roasting last night. Did 1lb of Kenyan & 1lb of the Ethiopian Konga from Roastmasters. I took the Konga up to City+ for espresso and pulled a couple shots today. I am just floored at how good this stuff is. Full on blueberries right out the grinder and milk chocolate covered berries in the cup. I am really considering order another 5lbs!

here's the curve -

@jammin and the rest of you. Thank you for "pssst, hey there's a rabbit hole over here"

look'n good my man. hows the wifey liking the roasts so far?

grab yourself some of that Konga from Roastasters. It's the best Ethiopian I've had this year. Good greens can really bridge the gap in roasting errors. I just picked up another 5lbs - can't remember the last time i've done that.

Man....I'm not sure who she loves more right now you or me. :D
You do know I hate you though, right? ;) :p

>Inkleg runs off to Roastmasters to probably order more coffee.<

I see you used this for espresso. Being still new to this how is it for drip and pour over?

Man, I hope there is some left when I get paid.

^i hope so too. terrific stuff. you've come a long ways in short time with your roasting. I'd like to see how it does on your HG/BM. To this day, the best pour over roast I ever did was on my HG/BM.

Like Dan said, fantastic. I think this is better than the Crown Jewel coffee. Maybe not quite as clean & sweet but the berry flavors go a long ways in my book.

And beer. Brewing right now next to the pool. Would be fun with you fools here (probably ruin my brew though with distractions).

^you roast anything good lately? we haven't had any coffee updates from you in a while

Fantastic! I like the berry flavors better for pour over than espresso.

I haven't taken it past City+ but it seems like this coffee shines across the board. Really tempted to take it too the cusp of 2C

This Colombian micro lot is nice. Its good but not in an Ethiopian bean way. More robust if that makes any sense and carmel. This roast was somewhere after but before 2c. I like that for coffee, but that spot just as 2c starts makes sweeter espresso I think. I am not sure why, someone know? My trier works but I think with a real trier, i could find that spot between first and second crack that I am looking for easier.

There could be a bit of blueberry flavors in the GCBC coffee posted over the weekend, not much left when I got some.

Selling the hottop on coffee geek

Went out to eat last weekend and the restaurant has in house roaster!!!
Sonofresco I learned.

Can't wait to talk to their roaster. It was too dark for me, but the waiter said is was a blonde roast. Underextracted French press though kinda ruined it. Nothing off putting, but just dilute I would say. Probably a Colombian, but wasn't specified.

@trickydick - remind me to give your ad a bump in a few days if it doesn't sell. I've had an account there forever and will vouch for ya

what happened with your roast? i didn't get any of that coffee. the seller spoke very highly of it

I haven't received the greens yet, but I'll let you know how it compares to last ethiopian claiming blueberry off sweet marias.

Think I've finally tracked down what I've been doing wrong on the Bullet. It is far more responsive than the HotTop was, and I was accustomed to throttling down the heat shortly after drying to extend the development phase, and keep myself from racing through 1C. Well what was happening instead was stalling the roast with not enough momentum and the 1C sounds became muted.

I'd be in but would hope for a three way. This sounds like a really nice coffee, but 11 pounds might be too much, and we already know my hoard of greens makes me the Smaug of this thread. What I found interesting was the cupping notes compared to the tasting notes after brewing. Notably, the chocolate seemed dominant in the tasting, but the berry seemed dominant in the cupping. I wonder why, and am stabbing a guess at resting time. I've noted that the intense berry notes fade quickly.
They also roasted pretty fast and furious from the looks of it.

So to clarify, I'd be in for half for sure, but would rather be in for a third or a quarter.

Oh and by the way, I might have a bit of a highball price, but hoping that serves as a negotiation price, though is legitimately a good deal on someone who wants to save some cash. They are listed for $1600 now I think.

@jammin If your looking to keep 11 I'd be in for half of TDs half. Not roasted this time. ;)

order placed. PM me where you want it shipped & how many pounds you want. We got free shipping so it's only $6.55/lb for the coffee. I can do 5lbs in a padded envelope which is $7.20. A medium box box is $13.60 and holds closer to 15lbs.

there is room for 1 more if someone else wants wants some great Ethiopian coffee.
