Hi guys, (gals?)
I have been the benificiary of your experience for several months now, and it's about time I introduce myself.
Greetings from Oak Creek, Wisconsin (5 miles south of Milwaukee) I've been brewing for about 4 years now, and last spring made the leap to AG. With 30 or so extract and partial batches under my belt, I was beginning to think I knew it all. (dummass) It's great to know you kind folks are there to steer me in the right direction when I have a question, because like in life, the more you learn, the more there is to learn.
So thanks again, and if you get near brewtown, I've got a wicked porter in the fridge.

Cheeseheads are mostly OK, and many of you can make some beer - us flatlanders generally can relate, especially those of us up near the border.....keep up the great work, and welcome to the board!

Skol!

That's nice. Feelin old now.

Uh, You're too young to remember REAL Schlitz. :D

Remember the real Schlitz? . . . .

My dad worked for Schlitz. There are still beer can banks in his basement (ones you cant and never could buy) of all the brands Schlitz made. Hell I think he may even have some of the first prototype cans for Jacob's best when it FIRST came out back in the early 80s. I still remember the slow color change when Sthro's bought Schlitz from the deep red/brown to that god forsaken cherry Sthro's red.

Remember the real Schlitz . . . .Hell I remember the dread of knowing my whole saturday morning was shot because it was a beer day and we had to go down to about 6th and Cherry to hit the Brewery Credit Union then over to the brewery on whats now 2nd and Galena to the loading docks to pick up his free beer. I remember standing on the laoding docks looking up as all the cans rolled by thinking they were roller skate wheels and how the floor was always just a touch stickey. I remember hoping guys like Skip, Lou, Al, and Gracie (still the blackest blackman I have ever seen) wouldnt come over and rub my head (still hate that to this day). I remember going to the Schlitz Club House up near Bayshore for Christmas partys where Santa gave you a stocking just about as big as you were, so full of candy that you couldnt finish it until Easter, and a petting zoo on the opposit end so big ya couldnt fit enuff pennys in your pocket before ya left the house to feed all the goats, sheep and cows. I remmber a couple guys from Blatz showing up one year that were kindly escorted out then just about drowned in Schlitz. I had more Schlitz knit/beercan hats then you could imagine atleast one for each beer they made INCLUDING "The Bull".

Makes me want to puke knowing a company like Pabst owns it now . . . atleast it's brewed by Miller.

OK, try Hamilton high class of.......
