    bottles and cleaning

Cleaner for bottles. Ha! Just rinse them out with hot water. Sanitize right before bottling. If you sanitize two weeks before they won't be sanitized when bottling. On bottling day they'll be exposed to dust so a potential for wild yeast. You're still going to have to sanitize the bottling...

    New kegger. Couple questions...

Your regulator needs to be mounted to the tank. Yep, all you need is a three way manifold. Or if you want different pressures, secondary regulators.

    Keg conditioning time...

4 days. Not necessarily a bad thing it tastes the same as kegging day.

Which beer brands labels come off easiest?

Guinness. You only have to cut off a plastic label.

    Kegs vs Taps

Currently my kegerator has two taps. But I have four kegs and gas hosing for each. So I try to have two carbing & conditioning on deck and drink from two that are ready. Works great. Someday I may add two more taps.

    Bottling Beer

You can bottle from the keg without special equipment. That said, I would just brew it again later. A wheat beer needs to be fresh. If you ever need new equipment you could always sell some other stuff you have.

Drinking more from kegs versus bottles

After the newness of draft beer wore off, I think less. Usually at the end of the night I want a little more beer. With a keg I can go for a satisfying 25% pull. With bottles I have to crack another.

Kegged Beer Improving While Waiting For a Home?

What sort of ales? For me a lot of beers are best when they reach carbonation equilibrium. We are talking 2-3 weeks. A beer at warm temperature will age faster than one at cold.

Switching to kegging -- Ball Lock or Pin Lock?

Either one works. I went ball lock because that's the posts on new AEB kegs. I also recently purchased converted pin to ball locks for their size. I needed pin lock size in the back of my kegerator but wanted to keep my connections the same.

    First keg

Even with set and forget you can get to it in 3 or 4 days.

    Ordered 6 kegs

I use a fridge. I still can store a few things around the kegs if needed. Usually more beer. I ordered a couple of the converted pin to ball locks. Great deal with new posts and lid, plus a set of o-rings. My kegerator is going to be maxed now! My current plan is to have the two extras...

    I hate bottling!

I always thought I would continue bottling when I started kegging. But now I don't think it will ever happen. Kegging is too easy. I'd rather just buy extra kegs and maybe bottle off the keg. If I do bottle, I have some magnum bottles that contained Anchor Christmas. You can fill two cases...

Needs to be ready in 3 days

I think three days at serving pressure in the fridge will get "good enough" carbonation. You already should be relatively close. I find I can usually set serving pressure at 10 psi or so and it will be fine in 3-4 days.

Beer line cleaning--how often, and why is it needed?

I clean mine after every keg since I'm cleaning the keg anyway.

    Drip tray

So my 5 gallon bucket isn't nice? You could always use a nice looking bowl.

    Beer faucets...

I'm a fan of the CMB V3S. They have given me great pours for almost a year. The creamer function is also a cool feature. The only problem I had was one creamer function didn't seem to work. Kegconnection sent a new piston chamber and it fixed the issue.

    Head retention vs keg time/age

A couple other things. It could be the carbonation balancing. What's your psi? Or does the keg have a small leak?

    Kegging Christmas wish list

Go to kegconnection to get a general idea of components. Their kit builds will show you what you need. At 15 gallons, you'll need three 5 gallon kegs. I think most new kegs are ball lock. You can always use party taps for the time being. Check around locally for a 20# CO2 tank. For...

    Keg Conditioning Homebrew

Even force carbing it still takes a bit for the carbonation to balance. Higher gravity stuff can take longer for carbonation to smooth out where you have a nice head. But you can easily get "good enough" carbonation after a few days. As far as aging goes it just depends on the beer. I brewed...

    Over or Undercarbed beer

I'd drop the psi to 8-10.
