Virginia *LOWERED PRICES* DIY Kegorator, FastFerment, 9G Kettle, 10G Mash Tun, C02 Tank

Sold some stuff, but can't seem to edit the original FS thread. Lowered some prices. Old Thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/diy-kegorator-kegs-fastferment-9g-kettle-10g-mash-tun.637855/ I have 15 - 20 lbs of random grains that are fairly old, but much of which is still sealed...

Virginia DIY Kegorator, Kegs, FastFerment, 9G Kettle, 10G Mash Tun

Same old sad story. Had kids. Thought I'd still had time and energy to brew, but I haven't touched this stuff in almost 2 years. Learned a lot and had a great time, but this **** needs to go!! I have 15 - 20 lbs of random grains that are fairly old, but much of which is still sealed and stored...

    Active fermentation after 1 hour!?!?!!?

I brewed a brown ale last night. Let it sit to cool overnight, siphoned into the fermenter on top of the last batch's yeast cake and shook vigorously to aerate and get it going. It's already got a thick krausen and a ton of activity in the airlock after about an hour!? Has anyone seen this...

Need a "stiffener" or stints in the insulation on my cooler/mashtun. Any suggestions?

I've been trying to get this thing right for a bit now. Almost there I hope. I'm sure some of you ran into this problem before. I'm inserting 1/2" pipe through the insulated plastic double wall, but I need to tighten the internal nut, washer and silicone pretty tight to get a good seal...

Does putting kegged beer on serving pressure lower carbonation?

So I got my pale ale to where I want it carbonation wise @ about 12 PSI..... when I set it to serving pressure (~5 PSI) will the carbonation level lower over time?

Re-using last used yeast... by just throwing fresh wort onto yeast cake?

Title says it all really. I'm about to rack a RyePA and wanted to brew beforehand to just add the new wort to the same unwashed fermenter. I understand to watch temps.... Theoretically this would work right? Does anyone have experience doing this? FWIW, the yeast is GigaYeast VermontIPA...

My latest brown ale tastes like BAND-AIDs!?!?!?!

I went to sample the attached recipe last night and was majorly disappointed. My first batch to be really bad. :( The flavor I would describe as bandaids, maybe slightly medicinal, but definitely overly bitter. Not a hop kind of bitter. I swear I woke up this morning with a weird headache...

Brewing first gruit. Where to buy "brewing quality" herbs?

Looking for Yarrow, Wild rosemary and Bog myrtle for that "simple" recipe off of gruitale.com ..... where is the best place to purchase all of these? Should they be dried or fresh? Anyone have experience with gruits or brewing with herbs in general?

Saison yeast activity dropped off after short/weak fermentation.

I brewed on 5/24 and fermentation started after about 24 hours. There was only 1/2" krausen for about 3 days then it just died down. I heated the room up to about 80 and shook up the primary a bit to try and reinvigorate. No dice. Should I just buy another slap pack of the same (or different)...

Buy new dual vale regulator or convert my single?

I went to the local gas supply store to try to get fittings, regulator, etc. to convert my single regulator(dual gauge) to a double, but had no luck. The idea was to convert my dual gauge regulator to something like this: But I just answered my own question I think. I already have a...

So.... vigorous foaming blew the fermentation lock onto the floor. Help Please.

I brewed my first hefewiezen last night and went to check on it 10 minutes ago only to find the fermentation lock on the floor and it foaming out the top. This is my 5th brew and I've never seen this happen. I typically brew 5 - 5.5 gallons in a 6.5 gallon carboy. Previous 4 times the foam never...

2 questions from noob. Removal of hop pellets & low FG's.

Had 2 questions. 1) When I poor the wort in the primary, am I supposed to be filtering out the boilings hops? I've only used pellets so far and have been just pouring EVERYTHING in the primary... Everything has tasted great so far, but just not sure what the status quo is on this. 2) Check...

Batch #3 - Please give me recommendations quick (brewing now)

OK. So I just bought a bunch of stuff from morebeer and figure I would experiment and just throw something together. This is batch #3 for me and I'm doing a very partial, partial mash. :P I'm mashing 1 lb of american pale malt right now @ 160 for 30 min. I literally just put the grains in the...

First Rack: Foamy Sanitizer... OK to leave some residual?

Noob here. I'm about to rack my first batch. The sanitzier I used (StarSan) got pretty foamy in the korny. I ran all the liquid out, but there is a lot of residual foam in the keg & the faucet line. Is this OK? Also, OK to throw the c02 tank in my keezer?
