    My first infection!

http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h416/GreatKazou/BlueberryWheat25AUG13.jpg Standard american wheat recipe with frozen blueberries added when I transferred to secondary. The bucket was brand new, and my sanitation is at an OCD level, so I can only assume it came from the blueberries...

    Need some Help... Stuck Ferm?

OK, i brewed a AHS Double Chocolate Stout AG last Sunday. It went pretty hard for a couple of days, then stopped and everything dropped. There was a large amount of yeast at the bottom, so I thought it was done. Today, 10 days after fermentation started, I racked it to secondary and took a...

    Need Some Recipe Suggestions

Sorry for posting here, but i've done multiple searches and haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I'm fairly new, and have brewed 5 batches of beer (5 Gallon), two of which are still fermenting in my fermentation room. I've also done 2 small batches of Apfelwein and 2 small batches of...

    First Brew Day Disaster

Right at the end of my boil, my 6 gallon glass carboy broke against my garage floor. Only fell from 2 inches and shattered. 911 run to the LHBS, and picked up a couple more better bottles. No more glass for me!

    Insulate Keezer Collar, or Not?

I'm planning on building my collar for a Fridgadare 7.2 this weekend out of 2x8 wood. I know most of you have done something similar. Do you think that insulating the collar is necessary, or will the stained wood suffice? This will be in my garage, which gets pretty hot during the...

    Just Completed Brew Day #2

Did an AG AHS 20th Anniversary Wheat which I plan to turn into a Blueberry wheat for my wifey. Amazing how much better things go the second time. I had everything cleaned and put away before I pitched the yeast. My effecience isn't good, and I expect I missed my OG. Getting ready to take...

First batch almost ready to keg/bottle

I want to bottle some too so I can give them to my friends. Is there any reason I can't bottle from the tap before the beer is carbonated and use a coopers drop for the sugar? I was thinking just enough pressure to move liquid, like pushing cleaner through the keg. Thoughts?

    Wyeast 1056 - Harvest - Then?

OK, I'm planning to harvest some Wyeast 1056 from an IPA I'm currently brewing. I'm new at this, and still don't 100% understand the compatabilities. What should I brew to re-use this yeast? I would really like to do a porter, but I'm not sure if this yeast will work. I was also thinking...

    Blueberry Hefeweizen Questions

OK, so my wife has requested a Blueberry Wheat Beer. I think I'm going to go with the following: AHS Anniversary Hefeweizen All Grain Kit with Wyeast Bavarian Wheat Blend 3056. Do you all think that will go well with the fruit? If yes, my plan is to add 4lbs of frozen (thawed &...

    Damn, this hobby is CRAZY!

Started with the deluxe kit from Northern Brewer, and an American Wheat Extract kit. Decided extract wasn't cool enough, and built a mash tun. Last Saturday was first brew day and did the American Wheat, which I plan to dry hop, and an AG Stone Clone. It was awesome! I'm now totally...
