    Revolution Northeast Hero (Hazy IPA)

Interesting story here about how they developed their Hazy IPA recipe, to be released on Thursday at production scale. Touches on yeast selection, biotransformation grain and hop selection, water chemistry (vaguely), etc. https://revbrew.com/working-through-the-haze

    Rubbery substance in fermenter

Extract or all grain? Could be chunks of caramelized DME?

Logistics of brewing in the bathroom

Lots of good advice here. I've brewed in a basement bathroom and shower before, but don't store anything there. I've had no problems with flushing kettle trub down the toilet. I've used a coiled RV water hose hooked up to the sink (I remove the aerator and screw in a quick disconnect fitting...

    Oxidation Risk During Sparging?

Now all you have to do is combine your chemistry knowledge with the brewing knowledge that's already out there. Here's a list of references, if you're interested in reading: http://www.********************/uncategorized/list-of-brewing-references/

Before the wife kills me. Storing

+1 to sanitizing cold-side stuff before storing and again before use.

    Kveik drying

You didn't get that method from here, did you? ;-) https://makezine.com/2019/04/09/join-our-free-live-learning-event-to-make-vegan-leather-in-your-kitchen-with-kombucha

What is your ratio of keepers vs dumpers?

I'm not saying anything about anyone above who has posted, but it might just be that people who have had dumpers are not willing to come out in droves and admit their mistakes or misfortune. I had a whole run of dumpers when using old LME. Didn't figure it out until I got a fresh kit with some...

DIY/poor man's floating diptube for clear beer

Yes, silicone hose is necessary. Weight was something that came to mind to me too. I can't figure out your second picture. Is that supposed to be just of the stainless float, to ensure that it floats? Otherwise, something is seriously wrong. The one thing that I think the original gusius...

    Beginner equipment upgrade

I'd really recommend reading more, doing your own research, rather than crowdsourcing random recommendations. Find out what's good for you. Some words to help you with your research : Conical Temperature control Electric brewing BIAB Counterflow vs immersion Pressure Fermentation LoDO...

    Kettle Sour

You absolutely must put that picture on your label, or tap handle if you keg.[emoji1]

    Make IPA Clear Again

There might be hope yet for getting the IPA name out of these hazy, non-bitter charlatans. Let's ask Arkansas to pass a law, like they did for cauliflower "rice". :-) https://qz.com/1583670/cauliflower-rice-is-a-hot-political-issue-in-arkansas

    Make IPA Clear Again

I don't mind that hazy beers exist and are popular, or that "juicy" hop flavor beers exist and are popular. Like the OP, I don't like that these new styles so often take the IPA name, and as a result you never know what you're going to get when you order an IPA off a menu or tap handle any...

Cleaning a DIY floating diptube (silicone hoses)

Never had a problem with a good PBW soak and rinse. I always disconnect them. Do you have the type with the filter at the end? If you're getting crud stuck inside, maybe you'll want to take the cap off the filter part in order to get a good flow of rinse water through it. I leave mine out...

    Interesting brew day.

Got any authority for those two being related to break? Or just wild guesses? I've never read anything like that, but am willing to learn.

    No oxygen dry hopping

I've been thinking about this problem for a while, and with the added twist that I ferment in Corny kegs with a floating dip tube. So I don't want a lot of extra equipment in there that might interfere with the floating dip tube. My latest thought (not tried yet), is to make a small mesh...

    serve and ferment from keg?

That's intriguing. How many batches have you used it on? Or is this just theoretical right now and you plan to use it?
