    Craft The Perfect Draft Mini-Kegs

I have used these kegs for a while now with great success. A word of advise if anyone is planning on reusing ones purchased filled with beer - If the fitted tap is circular instead of a upside down trapezoid shape then avoid, the circular taps will leak. If the bung is a plastic red bit on the...

    Beer in Prague, Vienna, Budapest?

Come on sir, you can do a LOOOOOOOT better than that. Aside from the Becher, which is a quality choice and even better if you leave it in the freezer for a few hours the beers are the Czech equivalent of of Bud, Coors and Blue Ribbon. They may seem different but they aint good.

    Klarstein preserver

I use something similar for my brews but do my mash in a camping cooler. You may be able to mash in it if the heating element is concealed and yes I would use a bag, the tap can easily get clogged up. The only real issue I have with mine is the thermostat kicks in and shuts off the element just...

    electric boiling.

I have an 2500w electric water bath canner. Holds 30 liters and does the job quite well. Not sure how popular they are in the U.S. but here in Europe they are popular. Mine cost about 100 bucks.

    Beer in Prague, Vienna, Budapest?

It has pretty much the same beers as other multi tap places in Prague but its at least 50% more expensive and very touristy, you won't find any locals there and during the evenings its filled with stag party morons. Its worth popping in for a swift half in the afternoon as its quite close to a...

    Turbo Yeast Alcohol for Liqueur-making?

I have used turbo yeast a few times. The first time I followed the directions on the packet and dissolved I think 6 kg of table sugar in 25 liters of water and used the whole packet of yeast. The result? Undrinkable crap, it was turbo through as it fermented out in about 72 hours and was 19%...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Interesting, I would never have thought of adding sugar or vinegar to slaw. I guess the yoghurt I use in my recipe would serve a similar purpose: adding a little tartness. Not as much as vinegar thus no sugar to balance it out.

What did I cook this weekend.....

For me there are no rules to pizza making (or even cooking in general) :) I see what works and what does not. I have had a few misses in my time but this was a real hit :rockin: Edit: Just realized I replied to your 666th post. Hope that doesnt mean I'm cursed or something equally unpleasant :)
