I just had exactly the same issue over the weekend, after reading this thread and calling Northern Brewer I decided to use mine(2 batches-both packs swelled) and they both seem to be good. Good activity in both fermentors.

All bottles are not created equal. I've had several New Belgium bottles break when I cap them, enough so I won't use them anymore. The whole top pops off right at the top of the neck. Sam Adams and Guinness bottles seem to be good to use multiple times.

I'm pretty sure getting crocodile bile in your beer qualifies as a reason to dump it.

Miller High Life. I was probably 9 or 10, asked mom if I could drink it because I wanted the bottle for something. She said yes thinking that I would end up dumping it-wrong!
