So have managed to brew and bottle a number of wines but now im running out of space.

Does anyone know if I can store my bottled wine in the attic? I could do with a cheap and easy way to store it and the attic is about the old place i can think of.

Thanks
Paul

Attics are cold in the winter and hot in the summer which is less then ideal environment for ageing. I wouldn't do it. Your only hope is to drink more. ;)

I thought that might be the case.

I might have to have a few more parties. I was thinking that by putting some away in the attic would stop me from drinking them straight after making them.

thanks
Paul

are you storing them in boxes or in racks? You can put them in boxes and stack them. You can even stack the boxes upside-down and keep the corks moist.

Thanks ill bear that in mind.

Currently they are in my under stair's cupboard and my fermentation buckets are in my office (soon to be my newly awaiting daughters room, due in a few weeks). But the wine rack is getting rather full and if they stay there much longer they will be drunk. Or shall I say I will be

Thanks
Paul

Wine racks are actually an ineffiecinet storage method space wise. If you can crate them you will be able to store many more bottles in the same space.

Do you have what we here in the states call a crawl space under your house? That would have a much more stable temperature range than the attic

No we don't have a crawl space or any kind of cellar. Its either the shed outside or the attic. I have been thinking that I might convert my attic into an office so then it should be kept at a better temperature.

Thanks
Paul

You'll be amazed, when you think about it, how many nooks and crannies you can find in a house to store wine. One thing you could do is get the plastic storage containers for storing blankets, fill them full of wine bottles and slide them under beds.

Out of site, out of mind.
