using to adjust ph. should i add it to my strike water (cold) when i add minerals or add it to strike water right before mash in (warm)?

I add mine to the entire water supply (mash and sparge) when I measure it out cold, and then I divide them between mash and sparge. I've not thought to do it otherwise, so I'll keep an eye on the thread.

I've only done 3 batches with an altered water profile, but in all my batches, Bru'n water had me add additions to mash and sparge seperately.

I split my adjustments. Mine go directly into the mash and then into the sparge water. Some salts don't go well into the sparge... Bru'n will tell you which.

It depends on why you're adding the acid.

If it's for mash pH adjustment, add it to the mash.

If it's to acidify your sparge water, add it to the sparge water.
