We burned up the below 5500W element, and I'm trying to buy just the element and not the stainless housing that screws onto the element. Has anyone found a place where I can buy just the TC element? I know the price difference wouldn't be much, but just seems awfully wasteful to throw out the whole thing.

Thanks,

I thought about just putting the plug end on too, would make for much quicker swaps in the future, but I just like the added security of having the connection fully covered with stainless in case I over flow the tank. I guess I could just make a little splash guard.

No one in the history of using these elements has ever had a problem with a splash hitting it. Spike uses them. Brew-Boss used to use them and I've sold thousands of them. Not one issue with a splash. If you're still concerned, put a purple broccoli rubberband around the joint.

How did the element burn out? Was it at the screw terminal to element joint? Those spot welds are about 10% as robust as they should be from the factory.

This is still floating around in my head so; What do you mean 'swaps'?

If you're sharing with a RIMS tube, there's this value-added one:

I bought one for my own RIMS, (as well as a hot pod for it: https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/etc.htm ) and having that optional offset bent into it was definitely worth it..slides right in and stays perfectly centered.
Also, you might want to 'upgrade' to a ripple element; (If not sharing with a RIMS)

..for more surface area..makes for marginally better heat distribution.
Just a thought.
