I've got one of their 5 gal ones myself!View attachment 616867 Yesterday I waxed the wooden cask I had prepared (the Angels share was a bit too large) later today I'll sanitize it again, check for leaks then fill it.
It smelled great when I was preparing it, and that process seemed to wash most of the color and aroma away... So today I’m likely to top it off with some bourbon.I've got one of their 5 gal ones myself!
Awesome!! I moved during the fall and didn't care for my barrel like I should so now it has a pretty decent leak under one of the rungs. I got some paraffin wax and plann to rub it all over and hopefully seal it back up.It smelled great when I was preparing it, and that process seemed to wash most of the color and aroma away... Nice shirt, but def tourist rippoff priced!I'm in Kona HI. Almost bought a beer shirt ”Dyed in Beer.". It was $35 dollars. Walked away thinking I do that myself on accident.
It was this one.... I think "Dyed In Beer!" is their brand.View attachment 616890

Turned more stickers into magnets and placed them on the kegerator/fermentation chamber/beer fridge.
@TwistedGray, do you see El Jefe? [emoji6]
Those are gorgeous!Fertilized and watered my hop plants. The comet is a beast! I think I have enough to harvest one batch and dry them with my homemade drying unit which is a wood slat, cheap air filters, and a box fan LOLView attachment 617148View attachment 617149

I know! This is my first harvest I did use some organic fertilizer with bat guano and nitric acids and what not so I guess that paid off! I'm building me a hop drying system already bought all the parts at Lowe's for 35 bucksThose things look ridiculous!!! Me wanna!
Congrats!Went to the homebrew club meeting, and picked up my first first place ribbon[emoji482] my rye pale ale scored a 37.
Thank youCongrats!
Just a tad stronger, it's all good!! I like strong Amber ale, 6-7%. Haven't had anyone complain yet!Brewed a batch of amber ale. Over shot my gravity 1.057 instead of 1.052 (brew father shows efficiancy at 88%)
Sucks to need one but the partial replacement heals better and a bit quicker than the complete variety. It will be hell for 3-4 weeks and totally worth it!Have to put my Amber ale and Honey ale and everything else on the back burner. Had to have partial knee replacement yesterday. Hurts like hell! But when this pass', it won't hurt anymore lifting my mash tun with 20+ lbs of grist!
Yep..sucks. Thanks for the encouragement, I'm a retired DOD nurse and former Army medic..we make terrible patients but the wifey is keeping me in line! No brew for me, she watches the Igloo beer fridge like a hawk! Too many meds for alcohol.Sucks to need one but the partial replacement heals better and a bit quicker than the complete variety. Be diligent with your exercises and walk, walk, walk! Then rest with ice on the knee and a cold beer in the mug!
Don't mix booze and painkillers, you're gonna need that liver later!Yep..sucks. My LHBS didn’t have barrel wax, so I went to a craft store and bought a pound of bee’s wax. Paraffin was less but I wanted to go the “natural” route. (it could be blended with paraffin-fake honey, fake wax maybe) the wood should be dry and the wax melted or at least warm and soft.Awesome!!
